Very friendly service (order at the till) and generous portions. The meal did seem a touch salty, but we still loved it.

Excellent food but average atmosphere - Edit
Great food, very fast and reasonably priced compared to lots of places we ate. They are very popular as a takeaway so the atmosphere in the restaurant wasn’t great, we were the only diners and the interior was a bit tatty. However the food definitely made it worthwhile!

So much salt! - Edit
Have to leave an honest review. Came here three times bc the location is so convenient and each time what I ordered was so salty it was barely edible. Like the curry - i scraped the sauce off the tofu and just ate the tofu. Maybe it was a new cook or maybe I just ordered the wrong things. If i had the choice between this Loving Hut location and the other, I'd definitely go to the other one. So sorry. Wanted to love it.

Large servings full of flavor - Edit
We really enjoyed our meal here: we ordered a soup with noodles, mock ham and beef, and crumbed shrimp with a sweet sauce served with a salad and rice. Everything was prepared fresh and had a lot of flavor. Yum!

Large menu & great food - Edit
I always make it a point to eat here when in Iceland. I've tried a few things and haven't been disappointed yet. This a chain restaurant, and there are two located in Reykjavik. This location has more of a fast-casual atmosphere, while the other is more of a sit-down restaurant with servers and a nicer ambiance. However, this location has a larger menu, and I enjoy their food more.
Read moreFavorite Dishes:
- 78. Steikt Vegan Combo: This is an appetizer of fried vegan squid, surimi, and shrimp served with chilli vegan mayonnaise
- 43. Vegan Bun Bo Hue: This noodle soup main course is similar to pho. The "ham" and "beef" are so good.
- 20. Panang/Grænt/Gulur/Rauð Karrí: I like their Panang Curry.
They sell frozen vegan seafoods and Asian foods. There are a couple of freezers around the restaurant where you can find these.
I get a kick out of the Supreme Master TV programming that's always playing here, but this might not be the place for you if cults are triggering for you.
Pros: Food is great, Large all vegan menu, Short walk from Hlemmur (near major bus stop)
Cons: Atmosphere could be nicer, Tables/Chairs could be more comfortable, Owned by a cult

Great - Edit
Loved the spring (summer?) rolls & vegan shrimp. Pad Thai was delicious but I wished it were spicier (they said it was spicy when it wasn’t). Sandwiches also were delicious. Went here twice in two days.

The vegan pekking duck was pretty good! It's a little out of the main city but we stopped here on our way to Reykjavik after driving all day. There's so many different dishes on the menu!

It was ok - Edit
Stopped in for dinner. Had fried rice , curry, and seitan salat. Not that great flavor wise. They were just ok. Had a chocolate cupcake and it was pretty dry. Appreciate that they are fully vegan but will not be donning here again on my trip. Much better options are available.

I've been to other Loving Huts around the world where the food quality wasn't great - but that certainly wasn't the case here!

Good selection - interesting place - Edit
The menu was so extensive that it took us a while to decide, and it might be worth it going back to try some more. Personally I found the dishes we had a bit heavy on the meat substitutes, even if they are the "original" kinds like seitan, but I think that was just due to the choice we happened to make. Next time we'll try something else on the huge menu!

Amazing place, staff and food - Edit
We ate at Loving Hut twice during our stay in Reykjavik. Each time the food was delicious and the staff were very kind. It's definitely the most reasonably priced place in Reykjavik. Meals are largely below 10 British pounds (below 2000 Icelandic Krona).
Read moreThe menu is huge and there are lots of options from Asian cuisine through to American. I'm a fussy vegan and there was a Beyond Burger, faux Calamari, and breaded Tofu nuggets/chunks all to my taste. My wife ate the Chow Mein and Avocado salad.
On our second visit, possibly as it was Easter Sunday, the staff even gave out free, small vegan cakes.
The only slight negative is that it is a bit of a walk from the very centre. We stayed in Grandi so it was 30 minutes on foot, but from the Rainbow Street it is probably only around 15 minutes. There is a closer Loving Hut to the centre (vegan world peace), but it looks like it had closed down. There was a two month old sign on the door saying closed for flooding, hence our walk to this Loving Hut (which was more than worth it.)

Interesting! - Edit
The food is good, mostly made with meat and Fisher substitutes, so it’s interesting. It is, however, the restaurant of a cult, but they are not pushy nor forcing that part in the culinary experience.
