Not my favorite loving hut

Tried the mi ketoprak, dumplings of some kind and sate, and didn’t love any of it. They forgot something on our order, so honestly the food whole experience was more like 3 stars but we came by just before closing so I could give it another shot.

Very good food

As always in loving hut - tasty for reasonable price. We have tried 3 dishes and bought 2 packs of chips and it all was very delicious. Staff is friendly and prices includes all taxes so you do not need to worry for the final bill. We payed by cash but I saw that payment via card is also possible. If you are in Denpasar I recommend to eat there

I love loving hut, so I'm not surprised that this one was also really great!
The mushroom stake was 10/10 for me!
The juice was fresh and had great taste!

Really nice food

We shared many starters and there were all very good! It’s a affordable restaurant

I understand the person who said there was a weird vibe.. 😂 there is not so many people there and there is no music playing but a TV on (on a vegan channel, this is nice)
The staff are not very fluent in English it can be hard if you have questions on the menu, but otherwise it’s ok, and they are very nice!

Pros: Fully vegan, Not expensive

Yet another great Loving Hut restaurant!

Really great vegan restaurant in Bali. It is completely 100% vegan. Loving hut is a chain across the world, but they’re all individually owned and operated. Like all others that we’ve been to, this one served fantastic local cuisine at great prices. Finding a Living Hut like this one is like finding home.

Pros: Tasty local cuisine, Very friendly service , 100% vegan

Delicious

We ordered about 1/3 of the menu. It was inexpensive and delicious. The staff loved my young boys and helped mind them so we could eat. Can’t wait to get back here.

Pros: Indonesian style vegan food, Beautiful friendly staff, The iced watermelon drink

Cons: Super hard to find, None of the locals knew where it was

One of the weirder Huts

We chose this because of the other review about the satay skewers and I agree - they're amazing! But the rest was a bit off. A lot of the menu items were not available. The noodle dish I got was an unappetising soggy pile. Only cupcakes for dessert. There was a shelf full of chef statues(!?). It's in a tech store complex. If you're holidaying through Bali, I'm not sure this is worth any major effort to get to.

Pros: Value

Cons: A lot of menu items not available, Weird vibe

So cheap and all vegan!!

Honestly the satay skewers were the best I’ve tried in Indonesia and if you’re looking for something a bit different I really liked the spicy seaweed steak thing. If you’re looking to pig out of cheap, here is where to do it!

Excellent local vegan food at great prices - near airport

We are a big fan of Loving Hut in Atlanta and so we wanted to check it out in Bali and we were not disappointed. They had a huge menu with so many local selections. We wanted to try everything but stuck to a few local favorites like Satay Pleching, Seaweed Goreng, Nari Kare and Cheplok. We also tried their vegan snacks, a charcoal crusted pizza and empanadas. Everything was really delicious and very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this place. It is very close to the airport

Pros: vegan, big menu to try local food - vegan style, cheap

Great food, great food

Loved the food here. Crazy amount of options here.
Easily my favourite restaurant in Bali, I have tried a lot of other fancier restaurants in the ubud area but this place has got me coming back over and over again.

Pros: A lot of options, my favourite vegan restaurant in, Bali

Cons: This place is going to make me fat, I eat too much, While I am here. Traveling regularly from ubud, Just to eat here.

Homemade taste and cheap :)

This place has a very local façade, maybe because is actually in Denpasar. I have never been to dinner at an asian house, but having mexican roots I may have a pretty solid idea what homemade taste like everywhere in the world. The prices are local as well and the servings are very generous.

Pros: Bread with chocolate filling, Sooo cheap, Serving portions

Cons: they don't speak a lot of english

I am so full

Came here on our first and last night's in Bali.
I think it warped our expectations of vegan food in Bali because it was really good, filling and affordable and then went on to Ubud where the plant based warungs are very pricey and no where near as tasty.
We had to take our pizza away because we were just too full.

Pros: Inexpensive. Locals can afford to eat here., Tasty food., Friendly staff.

Cons: No desserts., Cannot buy water here

cheap food

Visited in jan 2016, loved the food and prices however our taxi driver struggled to find the place and we almost didn't make it before close. Appears to be a hard to find location according to other reviews.

Pros: cheap, good food

Cons: very hard to find, staff weren't that friendly or engaging

Salty! mock meats

I was very disappointed after all the raving reviews. I had the mie goreng, didn't see mock meat in the menu picture but when it came it had a lot. Very salty fake bacon, it was hard to choke down, I really don't like mock meats.

Pros: Nice staff

Cons: Really bad taste, very salty, mock meat

food is authentically Indonesian - organic and cheap!

The aircon was being serviced when we came in - so it was a bit warm. The Assam chilli fishy tasted really weird. I particularly enjoyed my Mi Pangsit/Jamur as its not spicy. For organic rice and vegetables, this was a fantastic place for the price. Good for casual dining.

Good food that is difficult to find

Denpasar's Loving Hut is similar to other Indonesia's Loving Huts: it's clean, has an extensive menu, and the food is delicious. It's nice that they also give you an opportunity to try veganized versions of traditional Indonesian dishes. The staff was friendly and helped us by calling a taxi.

The only con is restaurant's location. It was very hard to find it, and we succeeded only after asking 5 or 6 local people (most of them gave contradicting directions even though we showed them the exact address that we printed on paper) and walking in circles for half an hour or more. The problem was that the restaurant is not close to the main street but hidden inside a complex of buildings.

Pros: cheap, delicious , clean

Cons: location

Notes for those arriving by private car

Probably the most useful thing we can advise in our review is how to get there. If you're coming by your own private vehicle, please note that Jln Surapati is a very busy street. You have to make sure you're in the correct portion of the street--they have an island in the middle so if you're destination is on one side, you have to be on that side of the island, else you'll find yourself traveling the whole length of the long road till you can make a U turn.

That said--the food is not as good as other LH's I've been to. They had an item which was called omelot--more like a burrito, but not bad at all. Noodles were all right. Potato wedges (side dish) were a paltry few.

Pros: good omelot, an original dish in Bali

Cons: difficult to get to by private car

Clean but poor service

This is one of the cleanest places you will find in Bali but it is let down by incompetent waitresses and their poor service. I have been 3 times - the first time the food was great, the service average. The other 2 times, the food was poor and service was incredibly frustrating. If you get there on a good day, it will be fine but expect to have to do just about anything to get the lazy waitresses attention!

Pros: Tasty food

Cons: Terrible service, Difficult to find, Food not consistently good
