Signature Char Kway Teow

The last branch of Loving Hut in Singapore has closed down and has been taken over by VeganBliss (ZiZai Group). Heard that Loving Hut taught the VeganBliss staff how to cook some of their signature dishes such as Char Kway Teow, so do visit VeganBliss if you miss Loving Hut's food!

Their last day 9-5-2022

Loving Hut was in my to-go list since long long ago, finally pay them a visit before their closure (last day of operation 9-5-2022), ordered their signature vegan fried kuey teow, alliums free version, good wok-hei, generous portion, flavourful enough, lots of ingredients, definitely one of the best vegan fried kuey teow in town, most recommended, their soup and spring roll were good too. Do come and support them before 10-5-2022

Nice local food~

Love their taste of the local food. To try dish
Hokkien mee, Cha kuay tiao, Kwey Zhap.
However, they are closing for good 9th May 2022. Try before they close for good.

Pros: Lots of vegan stuff, Good ambience

Cons: Desert is average

Fantastic vegan food

Plenty of choice here. Went for Laksa, Char Kway Teow and satay.

All tasted amazing, price is very reasonable, portions are generous and service was great.

Will be back.

Local vegan cuisine

It’s been a while since I was here for lunch. It’s good to know that the quality is intact and dishes are tasty.

Pros: Wide range of dishes

This place has gone way downhill

Used to come here often, unfortunately I think this visit will be the last time.

We ordered 4 dishes:

1. the char kway teow was tasty enough, but severely lacking in anything but noodles. A few cursory beansprouts and about three miniscule pieces of tofu.

2. Garden soup with rice. Literally no flavour, no seasoning, no taste whatsoever. Boiled cauliflower, broccoli and carrots in water.

3. Sambal petai. This used to be my favourite here. The portion size has literally (and I mean that in the true sense of the word literal) halved. And the price of course is the same as before. There were a handful of petai beans (you could count them) some tofu cubes, that's about it.

4. O Luak - awful. Slimy mushrooms, no seasoning, zero flavour, just disgusting.

Pros: Everything vegan, but overpriced and poor quality

Cons: Expensive, Tastes awful, Tiny portions

Average food but good service

We tried a number of dishes such as Hokkien noodles, kway chap, char siew, otah, ngor hiang, vegetables with salted fish and orh nee. Other than the ngor hiang and orh nee, the rest were pretty average. The noodle dishes were a bit bland, not as flavourful as other restaurants. However, service was good.

Pros: Good service

Cons: Some dishes a bit bland

Great place for nice vegan food

They serve a good range of dishes, with quite a few mock meat based. Some of their dishes are better than others, try to go for their speciality. I recommend the char kway teow.
Cozy and quiet setting, nice environment.

Excellent vegan place

The portion sizes are big, so keep that in mind. The vegan beer (non alcoholic) is just like the original!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff , Inexpensive - great value for money

Okay food

I had the sweet-sour nuggets. They came with bland rice and half-cooked plain veggies that tasted bland. The sauce and nuggets were okay, but also not the best. The soup was great, though.

Pros: Good portion sizes, Nice ambience and interior, Good service

Cons: Okay-to-bland food, Prices are somewhat high

Good food experience

We went there for dinner. They have a good selection of Asian and European dishes. We had the "Nyonya Laksa Lemak", the "Tomyam ocean hotpot set", and the blueberry cheesecake. Everything was well tasting.

Pros: Quite big menu, Nice decor, Card payment is accepted

Local cuisine at Loving Hut Singapore

Read more in this vegan Singapore guide: https://itravelforveganfood.com/singapore/

Loving Hut in Singapore serves some traditional Asian dishes. Out of the dishes I ordered, I especially love the 5 spice roll which comes with a sweet dip that goes very well with the crispy snack. The banana leaf nasi campur is a traditional Indonesian dish with rice, meat, pickles, scrambled tofu egg, and more. The taste is good, but not as good as the presentation.

The decor is quite modern with big windows to allow natural light in. The service is also good in general.

A few things to note is that, even though the last order time is supposed to be 9pm, it was called at 8:30 instead. And the closest MRT station (Eunos station) is not very close to the restaurant. About a 20 minute walk. So it may be better to take the bus (bus 16 or 33).

Pros: All vegan, Local cuisine, Glass straws

Cons: Some dishes are just ok

There are better options

We had two noodle dishes. The one with mushrooms had a lot of vinegar in it so I asked to replace it. They did and I got very oily noodles.
The other noodles were with a sweet soy sauce. That one was fine but nothing special.
Both dishes were served with a strange soup with carrots, lotus and something that looked like a grape. It tasted sweet and bitter, but not good at all.

The staff however was friendly.

Pros: Kind staff

Cons: Expensive, not tasty

Nice vegan restaurant with good selection and values

Friendly staff, delicious but way too spicy food for me. I was thinking of going for the laska so the waitress kindly brought a spoonful tasting for me, as I found it a tiny bit too spicy I went for the peppery aubergines. It was sooo spicy and it doesn’t show the little chilli/spice icon next to the dish. The 5-spices starter is very yummy!! The cakes are very small portions, I didn’t like the mint chocolate at all, but perhaps other cakes are nice. The selection is huge, so maybe next time I’ll like my order better - just beware of spiciness if you don’t like too spicy food!

Pros: Great selection, Vegan desserts which are rare in Singapore, Friendly staff

Cons: Spicy food when not marked spicy

Good Food Kinda Weird Idea

I generally would be a little wary of a place lead by a Supreme anything but hey, they have good food and you don't have to join up to eat there.

Fav items, mint cooler, laksa, kuay tiao, nasi lemak and anything in a clay pot.

Pros: Big portions, Nice atmosphere, Good food

Cons: Kinda Culty

Delicious

I was surprised to hear Loving Hut was part of a chain (after eating there) since the food provided such great flavor! This location in particular gives you a homey feel since it’s away from the busy side of the city. Try their Teochew 5 spice roll and the Nyonya Laksa Lemak!

Pros: Friendly staff, Great flavor , Cozy

a good find

We went to this restaurant not knowing anything about their beliefs, finding out that the food was delicious, and that the consciousness was according to their cooking, i can say that the experience was gratifying, we look foe more than the food, we look for the reason behind the food, highly recomended, well worth the visit, and hopefully people learn more in depth the reasons for changing what we put into our mouths

Pros: great consciousness, elevated spirituality, great tasting food

Cons: singapore prices

Avarage food, no gluten free options, nice place&area

They got impressive menu with vegan take on traditional Asian dishes. Unfortunately many aren’t very flavorful. No gluten free options available really and not marked either . If you ask them - the staff doesn’t seem to know neither . However if you insist on asking the chef to make it gluten free it is possible .

Pros: Big menu, Nice place& area

Cons: No gluten free dishes, Average tasting food

Absolute Perfection

I have nothing but positive things to say about Loving Hut. The food was absolutley delicious. I've been vegan for over 2 years now, and this is easily one of the best vegan restaurants I've ever visited around the world. 5 stars all around and must try for any vegans or even non-vegans alike.

Lots of Local Dishes

Loving Hut is a cute little restaurant in East Singapore. They have a large selection of local and western dishes that are all vegan. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the food is tasty. The portion sizes are not huge, but are adequate for a meal (maybe with a starter or side). The service is usually pretty good. I especially like the rose tea latte with my meal. Definitely worth checking out for Singaporean fare.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Nice food

Yummy food! Lots of options and healthy food too

Love loving hut! This is the 5th one around the world we have tried and it’s the best. Had a bali soba bowl, char siew (highly recommend!) and a choc avocado smoothie. Love that we could get a few healthy things which is hard to find in Singapore. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Great food, Some healthy options, Huge menu
