Try once, look for a better one - Edit
I wanted to love this place, but it is nothing to write home about. The decor is really tasty, fancy and special but the food is average. I tried the burger and the soup of the day and I swear I make a better one myself at home. The portions are small compare to the prices.

Excellent option in Laval - Edit
I had been to Lov at least three times before, but this was my first time in Laval.
Read moreI had the bloody caesar, the onion rings and the bagel lox and I have to say I was amazed by everything I had.
I highly recommend the onion rings. There are not too many of them, but they are huge and delicious.
The bagel sandwich was full of flavor, but it was so incredibly messy to eat I thought it was funny!
Pros: Onion rings, Great service

Trendy.

Gros service. Notre serveuse était vegan.
Cher. Petites portions.

Average - Edit
Portions are tiny. I need to order two meals to be satisfied. Food doesn't live up to the decor. Prices would be fine if they gave you more food for it.

Pretty but underwhelming - Edit
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for expending big on a beautiful restaurant with amazing food but... LOV is just the first. I don’t like pretentious restaurants that are just expensive for no good reason. The food was just ok. We tried the avocado toasts, a salad, the cauliflower rice and the gnocchi (this last ones were the best of the bunch) the smoothies are pre-made so you can’t leave the protein powder and such things out so we ordered a fresh watermelon juice that was actually just half of the glass because the rest was oh so much ice (it makes no sense watering down watermelon, right?)

Enjoyed the experience - Edit
I had been looking forward to the opening of this restaurant in Laval as surprisingly, there aren't very many restaurants in the area specializing in vegetarian/vegan cuisine. Visited for the first time for brunch and it was a positive experience.
Read moreThe interior was bright with both modern and rustic touches as well as some green which was nice against the white. I wasn't entirely sure about the music selection for the space.
Our waitress (Teodora) was very nice and other staff seemed kind as well. The service was also quite quick.
We tried the avocado toast, haskap berry grilled cheese, the side of hashbrown and drinks.
We were forewarned (which I appreciated) that the portion for the avocado toast was smaller. I think this was my second or third time trying a type of avocado toast and it was the best I've tasted. The curled cucumber was a nice touch without making it difficult to eat.
The sandwich was interesting (my boyfriend really liked it) and in some funny way, I almost feel like its taste was a reflection of the place itself. A bit of a modern, unique twist on a classic yet something about the jelly had an antique feel. It added a touch of deeper sweetness without being overwhelming.
The hashbrowns were good and were offered with a choice of ketchup or aioli.
The drink I chose could be made iced, which was nice on a hotter day.
Some of the other meals brought out to customers - pancakes (not too thick), waffles (with a generous amount of fruit) - looked good.
This restaurant's bathroom (with several stalls) is unisex and features sinks that I originally mistook for urinals! It surprised me and while I'm not sure how customers will feel using it, I appreciated the inclusive aspect and it is the first restaurant bathroom of its kind that I have seen.
There was also an area in the restaurant that featured candles you could light (something you might see more commonly in a church).
The only downside for me was the price. People sometimes have the impression that vegetarian or vegan food can be more expensive and Lov seems to be proving them right in this regard (which may discourage those who are curious from exploring). I understand that competition in this market and in Laval might be limited at this time which could account for their charging more but I did feel that it was overpriced for the portions. I wish it wasn't the case because it is a place I would like to share with loved ones and that I would otherwise go to more often.
Pros: Kind, polite staff, Quick service, Unique decor and other features
Cons: Not the best value for money

Nice place - Edit
The food is really good and the decor is amazing. There’s a lot of choices and the prices are pretty low. All the dishes are vegan, but you can add cow cheese instead of vegan cheese, that’s why it’s label as vegetarian.

LOV forever - Edit
