Delicious but a bit pricey - Edit
I have dined here a few times as both the food and service are above average. Pretty extensive menu with dim sum options. The stir fried laksa (a tad spicy), mixed mushroom fried rice, three cups tofu and sweet & sour mushroom are quite delicious. Dim sum dishes a bit average. Currently, there is a 20% discount extended to dinner (after 5pm).

Decent food - Edit
The portions are small but the food is quite tasty. Vegan options are not clearly marked so you need to ask.
Read moreThe prices are higher than in other places (but it’s a restaurant) and there are some random charges that you wouldn’t expect like: 10% service charge (there’s information about it in the bottom corner of the menu) and a charge for the appetiser (that they just put on your table and you assume it’s free).

Not worth it - better options nearby - Edit
As described in previous reviews if you eat there past 9pm they just want to kick you out. I was on my way home after work and just wanted a quick snack.
Read moreI had the wonton soup and the veggie dumplings. The soup was a bit bland but OK, the dumplings were extremely oily, the filling was OK.
The staff was rude. When my dish arrived around 9.20 I was also asked to pay right away, they didn’t let me finish my bite it seemed. One male server was eating (had half of his mouth full) while serving my dish....never had this before.
Pros: Convenient location in the shopping mall
Cons: Food: overpriced, Staff: rude

Mediocre and skippable - Edit
First the food: it was good but nothing special about it to justify the price. Nearly everything on the menu looks like it should be vegan, but it's not. Random items have dairy for no reason whatsoever as the recipe would not require it. (monkey head mushroom dumplings=not vegan) One item was a fried carrot cake, which I expected to be... A fried carrot cake. It was actually a fried sweet sticky rice cake with a few tiny specks of carrot.
Read moreNext the service: quite bizzare. They close at 10pm. Walked in right at 9 and they informed me immediately that there can be no orders after 930.... I checked my watch to make sure it really was 9 as I was not sure why they were telling me this. There is also a sign at the door that says all food must be finished by 10pm. 10 minutes after nine my food came and they told me I need to pay right away since they are closing soon. And 20 minutes after 9 I heard them telling another customer that the last order must be placed now. You guys really wanna gtfo don't you?
They also have extra charges on the bill, like 0.50 for the wet towel packet that I didn't ask for and didn't use.
Pros: Food is ok, Staff can answer questions about the food
Cons: Try to hurry people out of the place. , Overpriced , Extra charges

If you don't like spicy, you probably shouldn't be in Singapore. Normally Chinese is pretty bland and tasteless, but this was the opposite.

okay but not amazing - Edit
The interior of the restaurant is really nice but it’s quite pricey and the food is not really worth it. I got the fried Laksa which was just under $10 and a drink and the Laksa was nice & flavoured well but I’ve had better at cheaper prices. Note that you also get charged for the boiled peanuts & the towel on the table that they bring

Was expecting more - Edit
Having dined at the Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant @ Quality Hotel previously, was a bit disappointed with the quality of food from this restaurant. The dim sums were great, but noodles we ordered were not memorable at all and we could have better noodle soups elsewhere at a better price. We also ordered individual soups and the fish soup was a disaster, the shark fin soup was not bad though. Overall not value for money for the quality of food served.

Hidden charges, rude staff, good food - Edit
The food was very tasty. My issues stem from the staff being rude and pushy, then when the bill arrived, we found we were charged for the "complementary welcome" bowl of boiled peanuts, and charged another dollar for using the napkins that were already on the table when we sat down. The manager tried to argue with me that it is standard practice in Singapore. It hasn't been at any of the other 50 restaurants I've been to here. Save your money and spend it with ethical people, there are tons of options nearby. Shame on them

Had my birthday dinner at lotus. They were very accommodating to provide plates and cutlery as I brought my own vegan cake.
Read moreAmong the food which we ordered, I particularly love the passionfruit summer wrap. It was very nice though the price is quite steep. The claypot brinjal with salted soya is my favourite too.
p/s: Need to highlight vegan requirement clearly as I found that some of the staffs there do not understand
Pros: Good service
Cons: A bit expensive

Good food but extra charges - Edit
The food here is really good, however, there are so many additional charges! You pay for water, for the wipes, for a small appetiser they bring out (not requested and actually pretty grim) and on top of that you pay 10% service charge. You don't find out about any of these extra charges (apart from the water) until you go to pay which is a bit sly. Don't think we'll bother eating here again or recommend it!

Cons: Additional costs for items that should be free

Good choice for vegan in Singapore - Edit
This restaurant serve "pure vegetarian" food, as they use to call vegan food. I strongly recommend it to taste local food but vegan style and well-cooked. The food was very good, the restaurant was nice, clean and central (located in Chinatown).

New and worth a visit - Edit
Lotus Kitchen, in Chinatown Point, so near to Chinatown MRT, opened in July 2017. It boasts the same innovative Chinese veg dishes as the long established Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant in Quality Hotel. My wife, the Chinese food expert in the family, was especially keen on the Satay, the Taro Mee Sua Cake and her #1 was the Double-Boiled Tian Ma Soup.
