Fabulous food - Edit
Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorites include the vegetables chow mein, mu shu vegetable and kung pao tofu. I haven’t had mu shu vegetables in so long so this part of the dinner was especially enjoyed. I do wish they included more plum sauce and wraps for the mu shu in the to-go order. I hope they hire more vegan Chinese chefs and staff so they can reopen as a sit-down restaurant.

100% Vegan Restaurant! - Edit
It's only been one visit (I live in Portland), but I have to say I'm quite a fan of Lotus Garden for several reasons: it's 100% vegan, the portions for the prices are more than fair, the takeout process was swift, & unlike our meager options back home, the food (I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup, & the Eggplant with Special Sauce (opting for the fried rice) wasn't overly salty, greasy, or bland. If I lived in Eugene, Lotus Garden would be a monthly if not weekly indulgence as Chinese food was my favorite cuisine growing up & they nailed two of my absolute favorite Chinese dishes. You're a gem, Lotus Garden! I look forward to visiting again.

They’ve been serving the good vegan food for decades and I hope they never stop! For me, it’s all about the Golden Beancurd in Garlic Ginger Sauce- but I’ve never had a bad dish

all vegan Chinese food in Eugene - Edit
Lotus Garden is where to go for all vegan Chinese food in Eugene.
Read moreSuper crowded during lunch time when we went here as there is a lunch special during the week.
We had:
Kung Pao Tempeh (tempeh and veggies in a spicy flavorful brown sauce)
Long Life Veggies (a plethora of veggies)
brown rice and stir fried rice (each dish comes w/ rice)
Both were hearty portions and my friend brought her own container to take some home.
I'm pretty particular about my tempeh and will sometimes opt to order tofu instead when dining out. I took the server's suggestion though to try the Kung Pao Tempeh and he was right! Lotus Garden does it right and it is flavorful here.
Be sure to save room for desert as the two different kinds of mochi that we tried were excellent! If you have never had mochi before this a great place to try it!
Pros: all vegan Chinese in Eugene

I was shocked to know this is ALL vegan! The sweet and sour nuggets are freaking amazing. I had the fried bean curd with ginger sauce the other night and I wanted more of that for sure! Drooling just thinking about it now.

The food was fresh, unfortunately mine (fried nuggets sweet and sour) was not very tasty, it lacked seasoning. The special fried rice my fiancé had was ok.

The atmosphere of the restaurant itself isn't anything special, but I love the variety of vegan dishes here. My favorite is the kung pao with tempeh and the vegetable spring rolls. I have even served this to non vegans who have enjoyed the dishes.

Try the duck - Edit
Has good stand by favorites, but also some unique things you have to try that I’ve never seen anywhere else (try the duck). Not as greasy as other Chinese food I’ve tried, it’s all the indulgence without being heavy.

BEST Chinese food in Eugene - Edit
Would recommend to anyone looking for Chinese food with or without dietary restrictions. Dining in is always a great experience they serve you tea and usually have a crock pot of fresh soup for free. Options range from yummy tofu dishes that feel healthy-ish to imitation orange chicken. The fried rice isn’t amazing but still a great side dish.

WOW - Edit
This place hit the spot so well. I got the hot and sour soup (a MUST) and it was so reminiscent of the Chinese food place I used to go to growing up. Also got the chow mian which was a bit oily, but oh so good. Finished off with the buns and coconut cream (SO GOOD) and had abundant flowing hot tea for the whole meal and before. It was truly a lovely experience and the food was perfectly prepared and fresh. If I lived here I would be a regular. Also very affordable. I shared with a date and the total came to $24, and had leftovers! Yay!!!

Great Find - Edit
I have lived in Eugene for years but never seemed to go to Lotus Garden on the right day (they are closed Sunday and Monday). I was not disappointed. I appreciated that they happily substituted soft tofu for fried and even the fried tofu my daughter got was not the deep fried tofu that feels and tastes like sponge. Yippee! Food was super tasty and service was great. I will definitely be returning.
