Great Veg/Vegan Cafe in the Heart of Cowtown! - Edit
Mario Lorenzo is a brave man, opening a veg restaurant in the heart of Humboldt County's cow country. The cafe was originally vegan, but business was poor, so in order to survive, Mario began including some dairy and egg options. In the majority of his dishes, the dairy is just a light garnish that can be omitted for vegans. That Mario is a passionate cook, shows in everything he serves. The food is interesting, diverse, and always delicious. Mario is especially renowned for his soups, house salad dressing, fresh-baked breads, and pastries. Everything on the menu is very reasonably priced, including the fabulous five-course evening meal that is served the third Wednesday of each month for just $17 (limited seating, reservations required, and spaces fill fast so call well before the date). The cafe is casual and friendly, with indoor and patio dining.
