Peruvian local food without trendiness

It was a surprise finding such a traditional restaurant with so many veggetarian and vegan food. You may have your lunch box with you because it's difficult to eat everything included in the Menu. The staff may not know what it's vegan therefore it is better to ask about a dish without egg/milk/cheese (the owner is almost always there and you can ask her aswell!!). Almost everything is vegan though.

Pros: good value, peruvian food, great variety of "fish" dishes

Cons: extra label for Vegan food would be perfect

Good price

Nice waitresses, but a little confused to inform if meals were vegetarian or vegan. The menu wasn't enlightening either. Other than that, the portion was big and the price, good.

delicious and lovely staff

The portions were huge, you definitely get you money’s worth.
The menu isn’t too clear what’s vegan, even with a decent understanding of Spanish it was a tad confusing so definitely ask!

Pros: big portions

Cons: menu difficult to understand

Peruvian food gone veggie

Like others before us, we went for this place because the other veggie place on the corner was packed - people were even queuing outside!

The service was incredibly fast - maybe a little too fast: We were served main dish and dessert before we could lift our spoons to start eating the soup. Luckily the portions are big enough that the food stays warm ;)

And it is tasty! What I like about this place is that they take traditional Peruvian dishes and make them vegetarian. And you have the choice between white or brown rice which is a rare thing for no-frills places in Peru!

Pros: Good value, Brown rice option, Extensive menu

Good food, dingy place

Went here with a friend cause Vida Sana next door was PACKED, the prices are reasonable, the options are unlimited, but the place is kind of dingy, and they have menu items with TUNA. Since when is fish not an animal :/ The portions were large, we got the lomo saltado, but I wouldn't recommend the place. And this is coming from someone who loves going to hole in the hall spots and eating large portions of cheap food.

Pros: Portions, Prices, Location

Cons: Not vegetarian, Dingy, Okay service

Demasiada sal.

No es la comida más sana del mundo, pero hay buena relación entre precio, calidad y cantidad. Volvería.

bargain and filling lunch

I had the 12 Sol menu, and chose the ceviche of soya as a starter (was big enough to be the whole meal!) and i had the lomo for my main course. a few too many onions for my taste, but delicious nonetheless! there were lots of other menu options, mostly local dishes made vegetarian

Bargain lunch

A choice of 5 menus ranging from 8 to 20 Soles. I had the 12Sol meal which was a large soy ceviche starter followed by an even bigger plate of soy beef with rice and broccoli. Tasted good, way too much food.

very local place, no English spoken or English menu.

Pros: Very cheap, large portions

Cons: no English menu

Tasty, vegan options, very hearty

Nice menus, very hearty, prepared with generous amounts of oil and salt. Fast, cheap, not too bad ;-) For more healthy options I can recommend the place right on the other side of the street :-D

Pros: vegan options available , cheap, fast

Cons: a little greasy

Not very good

This place has 5 different set menus of the day, each with its own price). Currently (July 2015) prices are either 7,10,12,15 or 20 soles.

The day I went, I got the 7 soles meal, and it came with salad, mock meat with peanuts, rice, potatoes, drink and dessert. The food looked like it was just slopped on the plate. The flavors were not good, and it generally looked and tasted bland. I noticed that the place across the street has very similar items on their menu, but the food is definitely better there. I wish I could recommend this place, but I can't. There are 2 other veggie places on this same block with better food.
