organic local produce as much as possible in our food preparation. Gluten free bread and vegan cheese are available upon request. - Edit
i know from direct experience on their actual 305 acres organic Light-House organic Farm and meditation retreat center at 7637 tyee rd, umpqua oregon 97486 that they are good people and very interesting, you can Learn a lot, fascinating, intriguing. it is worth a road trip and/or even a global journey to visit there in person each summertime; july 15th to October 8th is understood to be the relatively dry rainless time of year, recommended.

Everything Changes - Edit
After supporting this food establishment for 7 years there have been some major changes recently in prices and quality, not for the better. The texture of all the breads is different due to a change in the organic flour. Unfortunately, the change in cheese and flour alters the experience and has impacted the overall quality of the food. They recently increased prices and switched out ingredients at the same time. For the overall cost and the lower quality I can no longer recommend this to travelers as it is out of the way and no longer makes the same type of bread and pastries. I will truly miss what it once was as it was a special place with excellent food and service, but alas things change.

Unique Gathering and Dining Experience - Edit
My favorite place to go for a beautiful country drive and experience a wonderful meal in a lovely setting with friends or loved ones. As of 04/29/21 Lighthouse is providing take-out only, but the outside dining is comfy, cozy, and delightful. They are currently providing soups, salads, and baked goods, including their awesome homemade loaves of bread baked in a wood-fired brick oven, and awesome pastries. The service is great, and the food is always absolutely wonderful, homemade and fresh, with many vegan options. Lighthouse Center Bakery was founded on the principles of service, compassion, unity, peace, and harmony.

Don’t pass this by! - Edit
The drive is totally worth it! They have several vegan options and their bread is killer! I can’t believe this place is in the middle of nowhere (or, seems to be, anyway!). The Asian salad and grilled portobello sandwich are my favorites! You can’t go wrong with the soups, either!

Lovely - Edit
If I lived closer to this wonderful place, I would eat here more often. The prices are reasonably higher than most places I eat, but the quality is present. My omnivorous mom & sister joined me for brunch and absolutely loved the setting, flavor and aesthetic of the food. My sister took a picture for her social media before indulging! I have heard no bad feedback of this place, only worry that the line will be too long.

Gem - Edit
This place is my favorite restaurant in the entire area! Before I had my food truck, it was the only place I felt I could safely eat! It’s 💯 vegetarian, heavy on the vegan end. The flavors are absolutely spot on! Their vegan Reuben is so delicious, you’ll get hooked immediately! Their salads are humungous and so fresh. Their daily soup specials are out of this world. It’s in one of the most beautiful locations around. It’s a must stop off the 5 or a great spot to hang around for the day. Their outdoor gazebo is adorable and lends itself to children being able to run and play in the grass and enjoy the flowers all around!

A hidden gem - Edit
My boyfriend ordered the quacamole burger with vegan cheese and I got some yummy medjool dates and a latté with almond milk. This place has SO many vegan options and the staff is super sweet. We got a huge loaf of their house made sourdough to go. I highly recommend driving out here to this hidden gem!

Worth the short scenic drive - Edit
Upon reading the previous reviewer's comments and finding nothing else remotely healthy in nearby restaurants on a Sunday, we drove less than 10 minutes to one of the best meals of our trip. This dining room is very large with floor to ceiling windows along most of the walls. The staff was very welcoming, patient, and helpful.
Read moreI had the salad special which included field greens, roasted beets, avocado slivers, black beans, red bell peppers, jasmine rice (too bad it wasn't brown jasmine rice), cherry tomatoes, served in a very large bowl. The tahini dressing was house made as all the food appeared to be from the menu descriptions. My husband had a veggie burger with grilled mushrooms and onions on a great roll. It came with grilled potatoes. He thinks even the catsup was homemade.
I tried to purchase a loaf of bread since they offered a couple of flavors that were not primarily wheat based but included other flours such as spelt, etc. The ingredients listed came from all local farms. Alas, the types of bread I wanted were only made on Tuesday or Saturday.
We would highly recommend this cafe (it is only open for lunch)and can't wait to return on our next trip through the region.
Pros: Delicious reasonably priced food , Locally sourced when possible, Clean facility and great staff.
Cons: Only open for lunch. ;-(

Veggie oasis in the sticks - Edit
This place is unbelievably awesome and delicious. They are very accommodating and friendly, the food is fresh and excellent, there are all the veggie/vegan options you could expect in a more metropolitan place like Portland or San Francisco at about 2/3 the price. Organic coffee with 4 non-dairy milk options. Vegan cheeses were freely substituted. Definitely worth the 10 minute drive from the freeway.
