Love this place, owner is vegan and offers a traditional chip shop menu completely vegan. Will happily chat to you with information and the food is lush my favourite is chips curry sauce and vegan battered sausage. I took my sister there as she was visiting from Australia and she absolutely loved it . Vegan food cooked in separate fryers and have vegan stickers put on all wrapped food

Proper Vegan Chippy - Edit
We love Leon’s for Vegan Fish and chips, and sausage and chips, pea fritters and chip and everything else available!! We always over order because it’s rare to find a good chippy offering decent vegan options. Well worth travelling to from Chesterfield, just be sure to order in advance.

I would give 5 stars but I can't as it's not fully vegan. I have had leon's on many occasions and the food is excellent, Leon himself is vegan and is always super friendly. Cannot recommend enough! Amazing value specially on the veast box!

Great choice and friendly staff - Edit
Massive menu on offer. Owner was so helpful and staff were really patient whilst we perused the big vegan menu. We opted for the pie, fish and sausage which were all lovely. Everything’s cooked fresh so there is a wait but it was 15 mins top, the owner kept updating us and it was piping hot when we got it. Deffo our new fave chippy!

Great place for vegan food, and the staff was very friendly and professional. We opted for the beast box, which was more than enough for two people 😅. I highly recommend this venue and I was fortunate enough to meet the owner himself 😁.

Leon is vegan himself, therefore you know that you are getting 100% v food. It’s a huge v menu. We have had the Veast Box numerous times 👌🏼

Brilliant chippy for vegans! - Edit
We took a trip down from Sheffield to Clay Cross (south of Chesterfield) at the weekend to try Leon's, because we'd read about their fantastic vegan menu, and it was SO worth the trip! We tried the vegan 'fish' and the vegan battered sausage, the Cypriot vegan halloumi, and even one of the raw vegan cakes. Everything was delicious! The team at Leon's are so friendly and welcoming, we're really glad we went. I awarded them a Happy Cow sticker, in my role as Happy Cow Ambassador, and it was very well deserved!😄

Vegan items are cooked seperate. The pea fritters are amazing. Love the chips and gravy. Can occasionally be hit and miss, last time everything was wrapped seperate though we asked for them together which seemed a waste of resources. Quite pricey for a hip shop, compared to say Ranmoor Friery. Vegan chios more expensive than normal chips. But good food for a treat.

Not entirely vegan but the options they do offer are great for a little chippy. Had the vegan fish and chips and gosh, I was stuffed! You really get your moneys worth. Can't wait to sample more of their delights.

I had such a great experience with Leon’s! I pre-ordered my food online (as directed by a lovely staff member over the phone), which was super easy to do and made the process a lot easier too... for my food as soon as I got to the shop!

This is the only chip we use at home in Derbyshire it’s a 40 minute drive but worth it. He has recently added southern style gravy to the menu which is great. Owner is above and beyond and the food is always good. So glad we found this great chippy. Would have given you 5 stars but happy cow won’t let me unless you only serve vegan options. I like that it caters for all as it means my friends and family get to enjoy it to without me forcing my vegan food on them. I find they get curious with my options making them more willing to give it a try! Great job keep up the good work... can’t wait for the next chippy super 😍

Food was really good, worth the price, generous portions and something different to most chip shops. Everything was cooked fresh when we got there too. Owner is vegan which is a big plus and everything was separately cooked, staff even washing hands multiple times between handling different foods. I’ve noticed some food places will reluctantly wash them/change gloves when asked but the staff did it without even being asked. Would recommend to anyone 10/10.

Order my food which I must admit was overpriced but had heard good things about the food. When we got home some of the order was missing so I rang the shop only to be interrogated by the owner and his wailing banshee of an assistant who was adamant she had done the order correct this phone call lasted at least 5 minutes with me answering the same questions over and over, eventually I went to the shop leaving my partners overpriced and dry kebab to go cold, once there I was met by the wailing banshee with a dirty look and a shaking head really great customer service the owner then said he had checked the CCTV and I was only owed a portion of chips was I hearing right he had checked the CCTV for a pie and chips absolutely awful. I will never ever use Leon’s again I am still in shock that he had checked his cctv for a £2.50 pie how pathetic can one person be and as for his staff I think a customer service course would be wasted on them absolutely disgusting people. If there was a star rating I would give them a great big minus 100. I would rather go without or travel to a proper chip shop in future do no waste your money on the overpriced food and appalling customer service at Leon’s

We popped in on our way back from a day out. Staff are friendly and helpful. The choice is really good (three different types of pie) and vegan options for a lot of the typical chip shop food. It's all cooked in separate fryers so no risk of cross contamination. A really useful point to note for anyone with a dairy or egg allergy. I can highly recommend the samosa with its nicely spiced flavour (don't worry there's no heat just flavour). The only constructive criticism we can offer is that the pea fritter could have done with just a couple more minutes to soften the potato scallops.
