A great little cafe! - Edit
I had two wonderful experiences here. The service was awesome. The vibe was chill and the food was delish. I had a carrot muffin and the server offered to toast it and add vegan butter on it which was great. The tofu scramble was done perfectly and seasoned well and the side salad was yummy. Then I got take out and had the Buddha Bowl add Tofu and it was fantastic. Big bowl with lots of great stuff. Will definitely go back if I’m ever in Barrie again.

Decent little lunch spot. - Edit
Ordered online and never did get a confirmation text or email, but my order was ready when I arrived after 20 mins.
Read moreThere were a few vegan options on the menu, my biggest complaint would be that none of them offer a solid protein option besides falafel or chickpeas. I ordered the mediterranean sandwich with a side salad. The bread for the sandwich was absolutely delicious and so fresh. The rest of the sandwich was pretty good, nothing overly exciting for my tastebuds though. The side salad was also nothing special, but fresh nonetheless. This was during a period of no dine-in, so I got takeout and the person who served me was very lovely and friendly. I felt the pricing to be fair compared to other establishments these days. If I worked in the area, I’d go here sometimes for a healthy, light lunch option. As someone from out of town, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go back here.
Pros: Everything very fresh, More than one vegan option, Friendly service
Cons: Nothing with much protein, Did not receive email that food was ready, Parking lot not plowed

Enjoyed brunch here. The tofu scramble was delicious. Quaint little spot with a 5 minute walk to beautiful Barrie waterfront. The owner is lovely abs there are options for all types of eaters. Some patio tables out front. Would recommend for sure.

What a great, cozy little place for lunch or brunch. Tofu scramble is lovely and served with house made focaccia and a perfectly dressed salad. The owner Michelle is welcoming and warm. Love the veggie sandwich or tofu peanut wrap for lunch.

A most pleasant surprise. - Edit
We were just passing through after camping further north for the past week. After staying the night, we decided to look for a place serving breakfast.
Read moreVegan options for each meal, would give it 5 stars if I could.
We stumbled upon the Lazy Tulip Cafe, and were so glad we did. We had a seat outside, and were served some of the most amazing and delicious fresh food.
We also had our first experience trying a Canadiano - like an Americano, but with maple syrup. Yum!
Pros: Amazing food + value, Friendly staff

Surprising veg cafe on the way to cottage country - Edit
A few of us were heading up north when hunger decided to strike, so we pulled off the 400 to see what Barrie had to offer. We weren't expecting much as I am a vegan and my sister is gluten-intolerant. Somehow we stumbled upon the Lazy Tulip and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was varied so that my sister and I, and our meat-eating husbands, all found something to eat. I had the Thai tofu wrap, which was pretty good. My sister vouches for the gluten-free wrap which did not break in half as GF wraps often do. And they had GF muffins which my sister recommends (but sadly, no vegan muffins). And not only did they have soymilk, but almond milk too! We had a lovely lunch on the patio and even met the chef. A great find for those vegetarians who live in or are passing though Barrie. Note that the café is quite small and very casual.
