So savory, so tasty - Edit
It’s a cute little informal place in New Paltz. We were just passing through and looking for a lunch place. We had the greens and beans, the sauerkraut soup, and a tempeh stroganoff special. The second two items mentioned above were very good, with unique and interesting flavors. The first item was a little more straightforward and earthy, but good too. Highly recommended and better than the majority of vegan places in Brooklyn.

Beautiful community space - Edit
The food is fantastic—just a few options, but hearty and delicious. (Think soup, pasta, beans and cornbread.) They also have an extensive pastry, chocolates and coffee selection. Best of all is the Mitzvah Wall, where you can make a purchase on behalf of a friend or stranger and leave a note for someone to redeem it (ie “a cup of tea for someone short on cash this week”). A beautiful concept.

Ice Cream!! - Edit
Stopped off 87 on our way back to the capital region, their ice cream was delicious!! We had the strawberry and tahini (which tasted nice and chocolate to me). We also got the breakfast soup which was good and hearty

Turns out to be nice! - Edit
In a few recent visits to the Commissary (my first), I found it to be a pleasant café with some serious vegan food offerings. Wi-fi was available, as it is most places. A quiet, polite mix of people studied, worked, or quickly departed with their selections. On an out-of-the-way alley with some interesting stores, including bookstores. The main store for the business's own confections is nearby. I enjoyed the two substantial dishes I ordered, which were a salad and a soup. The salad was somewhat small but beautiful and tasty. The drip brew coffees were appealing, though neither was a dark roast, a favorite kind of mine. I was thrilled to enjoy this relatively new entry in the field.

Pros: a completely vegan place with a pleasant setting, university-area café vibe, open a lot of hours during the day

Amazing. SERIOUSLY. AMAZING - Edit
My wife and I had the spinach pesto special (hope they make this a regular fixture on the menu) and of course their famous Mac n cheese. It far exceeded expectations. I’d give 10 stars if I could. The staff are wonderful and friendly and clearly love what they do.
Read moreThey also have a wall where patrons can “pay it forward” by buying something for a stranger and leaving it on the wall for them. So cool.
Pros: food quality , portions, price

Yum - Edit
The food here is out of this world, the best Mac n Cheese I’ve ever had! The spinach ramen pesto was also great. The first time coming I got the Mac and it came out pretty quick. The second time I came with 3 others and they gave us one dish every 20 minutes (so the last item took 40 minutes). So the wait time for food would be my only complaint because it was really frustrating. The food is worth it though and the iced coffee is good too!

We were looking for a spot to get some breakfast Easter morning while visiting Bard college. I would drive back up here (I'm from DC) just to return to this shop!
Read moreFirst of all, everyone here was super friendly. Amazing coffee. Amazing chocolates! My friend and I both got the baked Mac & Cheese, and I lived it. This is a fantastic shop. I wish I loved nearby and could visit daily.
Update: visited again a year later. STILL DELICIOUS. They make all their own milks in house. Got some chocolates to take home, too.
Pros: Everything is vegan. All the vegan chocolate! Grea
Cons: Worth the price!

I adore this place! - Edit
This place makes my heart so happy and belly super satisfied. I loooove the vegan ramen! (served every other tuesday). But honestly every single thing I have ordered here has been amazing. The salads are delicious, the hot beverages are perfect, and of course their mac n cheese (best ever). You can just tell that they work so hard on everything they make. Commissary has such a special place in my heart. What are you waiting for!? Go now!

Do NOT miss this little gem - Edit
New Paltz is a cool little college town with many options when it comes to veg eating but if you're looking for delicious all vegan comfort food this is the place. The mac and cheeze is phenomenal. Problem is, it's so good I haven't tried anything else but I know others who have and have been assured the menu is can't miss. There are also yummy sweets, coffee, chocolates and did I mention ALL VEGAN! Go here...now!

From the same owners as Lagusta's Luscious it has to be good and is. Great warm drinks, friendly atmosphere, good wi-fi and oh those yummy little treats.

Also have a great Mitzvah wall where you can buy a stranger something, or someone will buy you something.
Pros: Great Location, Friendly Staff, Amazing treats
Cons: Small food menu

OH MY GOD!!!! DELICIOUS!!! - Edit
So me and my wife stopped at Lagusta's Luscious Commissary in New Paltz New York and we both got their baked mac and cheese, she got a slushie and I got the ants on a log smoothie. Dear god it was all amazing. The max and cheese alone makes me want to uproot our family from Williamsport pa to New Paltz. The smoothie and the slushie were also very tasty. I am already longing for another trip and we haven't even left the commissary yet!!!!
