Tasty but expensive

Nice little restaurant, friendly staff, good service. Food was tasty but portions were to small for the price (four ravioli for about 10€). Yes, it is Venice, but we found there cheaper alternatives, that were closer to the hot spots. If you won't leave hungry, two courses are mandatory.

Pros: tasty, good selection, Smoothies

Cons: small portions

Wow!!!!!

The food at La Tecia is incredible! Our family of four went twice during our stay in Venice and were blown away! The kid said this is their favourite restaurant ever. Seitan-stuffed ravioli, eggplant parmesan, lasagna, tiramisu and cheesecake were highlights!!

Pros: All vegan, Friendly staff, High quality food

Cons: Away from the "tourist" areas

One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to

I have almost never eaten such great vegan food at a restaurant! It is very traditional Italian and just so tasty. Will definitely visit again, whenever I have the chance :)

Pros: The dessert menu, Typical Italian food but all vegan and delicious , Well trained staff

Delicious vegan food

I came here for dinner with two friends, and everything we ordered was tasty. I was especially happy to be able to try risotto, ravioli, and tiramisu. The ravioli in a sage sauce was particularly delicious. This was the best food I’ve had during this 9-day trip to Pisa and Venice. I imagine that everything on the menu is tasty, but do try the ravioli.

Dessert was great

Caught this place just as it was closing (got side tracked drinking prosecco in a beautiful art gallery garden as one does in Venezia) and they were nice enough to sell us take-out desserts which ended up being our dinner. We had tiramisu and chocolate cake. They were delicious. Would go back for a full meal if I return.

Pros: Dessert, Friendly staff, All vegan

Cons: Far from the Centre so give yourself plenty time

Hope to see you the next time back in Venice. We have some very good organic Prosecco and we also do a vegan Spritz so you have plenty of time for dinner. Thanks a lot!

Don't miss out...

On this amazing restaurant while in Venice.
Venice hasn't got many vegan places but has a lot of overpiced restaurants for tourists.
La Tecia Vegana is a bit out of the way (but near public transports) but it's the best place by far to eat proper italian food the vegan way (I am Italian and my family live in Venice).
All the dishes were nice and the vine super!!!
Don't forget to book, it's very popular :)

Best food in Venice!

This place doesn't get the credit it's due because it's out the way. On the Wednesday when we visited it was very busy so it might be worth reserving a table. We emailed the place to reserve a table and within 30 mins I had a reply stating the table was reserved. Due to his popular this place was once it got a little busy the service slowed down but for us that was no problem as it gave us time to drink the wine! The prices here were very reasonable but I think it's because it out of the way if everything else.
To start we had the lasagna which was to die for and the best we have ever tasted. We also had the ravioli which also tasted amazing with the sauce it came with accompanied it great. The bread was topped up once it had all gone. The burger would have been better on a bun with the tomato sauce it came with on too of it. The tempah was also good with the sauce it was in making this dish as it was delicious! The wine was nice we went for half of litre incase we didn't like it.
Might look like your heading into nothing but follow the maps as you will eventually spot it.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming and if you don't mind the walk I would 10000% recommend a visit here seeing as its the only 100% vegan restaurant in Venice.

Support family businesses

Came here on a Saturday night. The place is a nice family run business and is frequented with locals, so you know it’s the real deal. I ordered the lasagna for the first dish and the roast seitan with polenta for the main dish, which was accompanied by a basket of what appeared to be homemade bread. Both dishes were very good and filling, although the roast got a little sickening towards the end - or perhaps I was so full I couldn’t take another bite. First course dishes 8€, main course dishes 10€ and desert 5€. Cover charge not included.

So yummie I registered on happy cow just for a review!

My boyfriend and I spent the evening in la tecia vegana and had one of the best (maybe the best) vegan meals ever in a restaurant. We had some red wine (super nice as well) with two first courses, one second course and desert - all for share.
First courses: Lasagna and ravioli
second course: Tempeh with zucchini and rice
side dish: baked potatoes
desert: tiramisu, pistaccio cake, one truffle

Everything was delicious. My favourites were the lasagna, the baked potatoes with tempeh and the truffle. My boyfriend loved the ravioli, the tempeh as well and the pistaccio cake.
We highly recommend eating here, the restaurant has a lovely athmosphere, the waiter was courteous and nice and the price is more than fair! We'd love to come back!

Pros: everything is yummie, fair price, helpful staff

Cons: none

Consigliato.

Pros: Piatti curiosi e particolari

Cons: Prezzi leggermente alti

The BEST vegan GF food EVER

I am so incredibly impressed at this little restaurant. I'm only in Venice for one night and visited on the off chance if getting a table. Although they were fully booked, they managed to seat us and I had the eggplant parmesan and my grandmother had the raw zucchini noodles. They were so delicious. The food came very quickly, great variety on the menu and smiley polite staff. Couldn't have asked for better, and it's my new favourite restaurant in the world!

Best meal we had in Venice.

We had seen this restaurant listed in Happy Cow and then our hotel concierge recommended as well. If you take water taxi to Santa Marta stop, it was straight down street and easy to find. Recommend reservations and extra time to deal with water taxi. Not only was the food all vegan and outstanding, the prices were not outrageous as we had seen in San Marco area.

Pros: Excellent food , Friendly staff , Reasonable prices

Cons: A little challenging to get there

Best ravioli I’ve ever had

This restaurant is amazing! It was so good that we ate there two days in a row during our stay in Venice. The first day I had the black and white ravioli( the best ravioli I have ever had) and my husband had the lasagna. The second day my husband had the ravioli and I had a flavourful and delicious chickpea omelette. We had dessert both days, the first day we had the tiramisu and the second day we had a hazelnut cake that tasted like a Ferraro Roche. The food was beautifully presented and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The owner was super friendly and described himself as a vegan activist💗if we had stayed longer in Venice I would have eaten everything on the menu!

Excellent food

La Tecia Vegana serves excellent vegan Italian food - just what we were looking for. The black and white ravioli were amazing - cooked perfectly, with a delicious filling and sauce. The gnocchi were decent with a good sauce. I got eggplant parmesan and my partner got a seitan steak with polenta and gravy. All of it was delicious and excellently prepared.
The restaurant is far from the tourist crowds which is a definite plus - it's a quiet neighborhood, and the people who eat here have searched it out.

Pros: Great food, Quiet location, Large portions

Good, Authentic Italian Restaurant

La Tecia Vegana was a nice place to have a vegan dinner, especially in Venice where vegan options are limited. The food was pretty good overall and well presented. The menu presents satisfying Italian foods while judiciously avoiding certain foods (such as melted cheese) whose vegan equivalents never hold up to the real thing.
The mushroom and seitan ravioli are heavenly, and come topped with toasted nuts and swimming in a rich oil based sauce that begs for each drop to be finished with the basket of whole grain bread served along with the first course.
The seitan roast was tender and cleverly molded to resemble a tied roast. The flavor of the gravy was intense, though it tasted vaguely reminiscent of bouillon powder. The true star of the dish was the polenta. Overall it was a hearty course, seasoned convincingly enough to pass for actual meat.
The only dish I tried that did not live up to my expectations were the gnocchi in pesto. Overall, a very nice evening out in Venice.

Pros: Authentic Vegan Italian Food, Good menu selections, One of few Vegan places in Venice

Cons: Located in a remote corner of the city, Some sauces weren't so great

cippalippa

04 Oct 2018

Thank you for your detailed review . Our gravy for the roast seitan is made from white wine, mix herbs and olive oil, no bouillon powder.

Amazing food I Venice

After eating pasta with canned mushrooms (I know) we where very much looking forward to this reastauran. We where not disappointed 😀. Great service and very, very nice food. We shared two starters, one second, one main and two deserts between us. All in spirit of being able to try as much as possible. My first vegan tiramisu was one of the best tiramisus I'll eaten, and they are hard to make. If anything the side salad for the main was a bit boring. Recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Pros: All on menu is vegan

Delicious food, lovely staff, great atmosphere!

The only vegan restaurant in Venice and it's wonderful! Lovely, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious - we shared the ravioli, omelette, roast Seitan and Bigoli. They were all yummy! I then had the chocolate hazelnut cake and it was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had! It's a must to visit!
