Excellent vegan fine dining

The best vegan fine dining experience in France so far. Great service and a long wine list. The 5-course meal had some great tastes, textures and variety. 4 of the 5 were absolutely gorgeous, including excellent tofu and rich flavours. Only 1 dish fell flat. When reserving table, you have to request vegan in advance and they will make it only for you.

Sooo expensive and not very good

We made reservations for the vegan tasting menu. They sent us several emails asking if we eat fish, cream, eggs, etc. We repeatedly told them we were vegan. The food was really lackluster. First course was literally a raw thinly sliced mushroom with some foam on it. Second course was some heirloom tomatoes with some herbs and the tomatoes were mushy. They kept bringing us bread (it was delicious) to fill us up. Main course were some green vegetables. Without the bread we would not have had enough to eat. I don’t mind paying a lot for a special experience (a couple nights later we went to the excellent Gauthier Soho in London and had an outstanding vegan tasting meal) but this was ridiculous and a huge waste of money. Our meal probably cost $10 each to make and we paid a small fortune.

Pros: Beautiful setting , Rooftop bar for drink before/after is pretty

Cons: Expensive- like really expensive, Not very good, Not enough food

This was the best course- a chocolate mousse that was tasty. With more foam. at La Table de Montaigne in Bordeaux

Fourth course- tasted like a fruit roll up with a little sorbet at La Table de Montaigne in Bordeaux

Main course- a few green vegetables at La Table de Montaigne in Bordeaux

Second course- a slightly mushy tomato at La Table de Montaigne in Bordeaux

First course- a raw mushroom with some foamy stuff at La Table de Montaigne in Bordeaux
