Fantastico - Edit
After a week of eating tacos and not-so-healthy mexican foods, I thought I'd try La Sends - it was outstanding. I had the Amazona Protein Bowl and it was incredibly tasty and healthy. I will be back for the next couple days before leaving. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Meh. - Edit
The food was okay. I liked that it was made from scratch but it fell apart and didn’t have much taste. My wife & I both got the Senda burger. I chose not to have the potato “cheese” or potatoes that come with the burger. I got a small amount of steamed broccoli instead, but no more than my wife got with her burger (it comes with broccoli and potatoes). We sat there waiting for fifteen minutes before we were seen to, and another 15 minutes before we finally got our drinks. The place was not busy, so I can only assume they had to go pluck the coconut from the tree before they could give me the coconut water. The server promptly left and never returned. We eventually flagged someone down & got our food (the order was wrong at first although we had stressed what we wanted). Later we had to beg for the check. I don’t think the food we got was good enough to make a return trip for the bad service.

Very nice - Edit
Extensive vegan menu with appetizers, pizzas, salads sandwiches/burgers and Mexican dishes. Lots of juices and smoothies and drinks. Really tasty and fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced too. A big shared appetizer, 2 mains and 2 large drinks for 380 pasos so about $20. They had desserts too (muffins, cheesecake) but we were full. Portions are generous. Also had a decent breakfast menu

This place is absolutely amazing, they have so much options that I couldn't try everything in 4 days of visiting! Focused mainly on the Mexican food. Portions are really big, so try to share to not waist 😊

A wonderful vegan restaurant that is off the beaten path but well worth the visit. The food is not over-salted, very little oils, and very healthy and fresh.

Welcoming and friendly, serving amazing food. - Edit
We arrived at La Senda in a bit of a rush as we had a reservation for a show. It is only a short distance from the bustling Avienda 5 but feels a million miles away. There is no outdoor seating but the interior is very light and airy. The waiter who greeted us was extremely helpful and explained the all vegan menu and which dishes would take the least time to prepare. The description of the bowl options sounded amazing so we selected a couple of dishes and sat back and waited.
Read moreBefore we knew it our food had arrived. The bowls were beautifully presented and as we tucked out taste buds were mesmerized by the delicate flavors and textures of the food. Sadly, we were in a hurry so had no time to try any more of the delicious food from the menu. The deserts looked tempting but we had to leave!
Our experience at La Senda was terrific. The atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly and welcoming, the staff we met were helpful and accommodating. And as for the food - amazing! We highly recommend checking out this place if you are in Playa del Carmen.
Pros: Quiet and away from main tourist areas, All vegan menu

Loved it! - Edit
I found out this restaurant is right next to our hotel after 4 nights in Isla Mujeres where I hardly ate anything (since no vegan options). Maybe it was the hunger talking, but everything we ordered was on point! Jackfruit tacos, green salad and LOX bagle!

I had the vegan enfrijoladas and tascalate and both were incredible. The chickpea chorizo pieces on the enfrijoladas were particularly nice. The waiter there was friendly and patiently spoke to me in English explaining the different things on the menu. Will definitely be back!

Best vegan spot in Playa! - Edit
La Senda is an amazing little vegan cafe in downtown Playa del Carmen and a definite must for any local or visiting vegans. I first ate here when they opened up around 5 or 6 years ago, and coming back for a second try I was blown away.
Read moreTheir menu is quite expansive and features dishes like crepes, enmoladas, tacos, açaí bowls, etc. I tried their lentil burger--served with smoked carrot "bacon" and melted potato "cheese"--based on our waiter's recommendation and my friend had their "carnitas" tacos and soup of the day (poro con papa). Everything was absolutely delicious. The burger was indeed very tasty and satisfying. The soup was homey and tasted just like the one they would make in my house when I was a child. Th tacos were spectacular! Served beautifully with absolutely delicious. We actually ordered more because they were so good! We finished our meal with a slice of their sinfully good chocolate cake. Goey, rich, melt-in-your mouth style cake that I certainly plan to return for. Finally, I had this ancestral cacao beverage whose name I cannot recall, but I highly recommend it. Unique, delicious, and refreshing.
Service was great and prices are extremely decent for the area it's in. The place is located in a cute courtyard within a hotel. Not very big, but very cozy and intimate. They have string lights, so at night it must be a very romantic atmosphere. Overall, everything was lovely. Great experience in every aspect and would highly recommend!
My only note, I wish they offered their breakfast options all day. We arrived after 12pm and I was a bit bummed not to be able to order their crepe.
Pros: Amazing food, Everything made in house from scratch, Good service
Cons: Breakfast menu ends at noon

Everything is bland - Edit
The ONLY thing I like here is the chocolate cake. The guacamole was ok but the chips it’s served with are hard and chewy and have a weird taste. My friend had the chilaquiles and said they were not good or authentic, lacked flavor and the chips are supposed to soak up the salsa but these don’t. They use the same weird tasting guacamole chips for that dish. I had the lentil burger and I didn’t even finish it, it was dry and lacked flavor. It came with potatoes that weren’t good at all in my opinion. My husband likes his raw pesto though, I tried it and it was very good.
