Don’t waste your money!

As a Colombian I got so excited to find this place while in Bronx and as a Colombian it was so disappointing to taste this.
It was plainly disgusting.
The cheese on maizitos was different from the arepas and Maduros which doesn’t matter because they were both disgusting.
The maizitos didn’t even have sauce and that’s something very important in Colombian maizitos.

The empanadas were okay nothing crazy.
The “meat” was a mystery to what it was and the taste was blend.

And the arroz con Leche was hard and tasteless.
Waste of money!

Real Authentic!

I was so thrilled to find myself seated to a whole separate vegan menu! They even have their own branding for the empanadas!

Pros: Delicious and large portions, Reasonable , Cool vibe

Cons: More vegan sauce options needed (mayo ketchup)

Vegan Colombian food YAAAS!

If you are vegan, go here now. Yes, it is worth the trip. It's a short walk from the Morris Park station on the 5. Definitely go with a group of people because you're going to want to try all the things.

I came here on my birthday for lunch as part of a day-long series of activities, and this was the highlight for everyone. We told the server that it was our first time there, and she helped us order.

The reason they have a menu that includes vegan and gluten-free items because a relative of the owner has a medical condition that required her to explore various dietary options to deal with it. So that is how they became familiar with vegan food. The menu has vegan and gluten-free items well-marked.

Empanadas - definitely get the Roasted Vegetables. It comes in a corn dough and we all agreed this was the best flavor and ordered seconds. We also tried the Mushrooms & Onions, Beef-Less Ground and Roasted Eggplant ones, which were fine, they just couldn’t compare to the Roasted Vegetables.

We tried both the Patacones (green plantain base) and the Arepas (white cornmeal base). If you can only choose one, go with the Patacones. We tried both the Carrilero (beef-less ground and cheese) and the Vegan (mix greens, black beans, guiso & vegan cheese) toppings, which were both good. I'm usually not into fake meats, but I did like their beef-less ground.

Maduros Rellenos - a whole sweet plantain sliced down center and filled. We got the Beef-Less Ground & Vegan Cheese version. Excellent!

Each of those three dishes is served with a side of calentado (rice and beans).

Maizitos - an appetizer that is a big bowl of corn. It’s good, but make sure you have enough people to eat it or be prepared to take some home because it’s very large!

For dessert, we tried the Arroz con Leche Vegan (rice pudding). It was good. Rice pudding isn’t really my thing, so I would try one of the other two vegan desserts next time (strawberries and cream or apple pie empanadas).

Great vegan empanadas, lots of vegan options

Fantastic addition to the growing Bronx culinary scene. All-Colombian food menu. Cool decor; friendly vibe. Vegan items include empanadas, a vegan burger, a portobello based vegan main dish, all the sides, vegan rice pudding. Faux ground beef and vegan cheese are used to veganize. Menu items clearly marked vegan. Parking available nearby. Full bar service. I didn't have high expectations for my frozen margarita, but it was really good.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, clearly marked, Friendly, efficient service, Great cocktails
