Great vegan paella - Edit
La Lluna is tucked away on a narrow street, and we found it thanks to the Happy Cow community. It did not disappoint. The food is authentic and very reasonably priced. The restaurant seems to be a small family run business and has a lovely informal atmosphere. I had the soup then paella, both of which were excellent. There was a choice of vegan cakes as well.

Historia viva - Edit

Great set lunch menu - Edit
We really like the Spanish vegetarian places which offer a set menu (starter, main & dessert) because it makes us try something different - our meal here was very enjoyable.

Vegetarian with vegan options - Edit
The lunch menu is good value for money, and we found all items tasty; not quite mainstream. They will offer vegan options and plant-based milk with the coffee, but the focus is ovo-lacto vegetarian.

Everybody was polite and gave a 'family vibe'. The food however was bland. Not bad, not great.

Cosy but meh - Edit
A cosy place with multiple vegan options. But I guess I chose the wrong ones. My primero was a vegan paella, which was nothing special (and also came too soon for a fresh paella). My segundo was three sauces, which were just that - had to order bread with it. It all was okay, vegan and healthy, but just that, okay.

We Didn't Eat Here - Edit
We went here because lots of places are closed on Mondays. Most people were sat on the street but we went inside which was a bit like an old pub, the waiter gave us English menus but the choices didn't fill us with excitement: 2 dishes ratatouille with rice, or mushrooms with rice could be made vegan & another 2 dishes could be made vegan, a salad I think. We looked at each other & decided to leave.

Pretty good - Edit
I got the ensalada valenciana y consommé, and both were decent but maybe a little expensive for what they were. La tarta de chocolate was great and the staff were nice, even though they were busy.

Pionero restaurante vegetariano - Edit
He ido alguna vez y volveré.

Not too hot for a stuffed pepper! - Edit
The stuffed pepper was a hearty culinary party of flavors. Filled with rice and mushrooms with a side of ratatouille (I think,) it was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to devour. Also had the chocolate cake and LOVED the puddingish texture and crust.

Maybe ok for 100yo vegetarians - Edit
The restaurant has a strange raw charm and some of the dishes tasted pretty good (filled pepper). But really it is this kind of cuisine your grandma cooks you when she finally realizes you really don't eat meat. The whole menu is lacking any vegan protein (nope not even a bean), dishes are uninspired and boring. I ended up unsatisfied and hoped for the desserts to save it, but oh man their two vegan desserts are literally a cold mush.
Read moreMy favorite thing of the restaurant were the tiles on the wall. And I also liked how the owner splashed out dirty water in front of their entrance as we waited. It's part of their raw charm and I'd really recommend if you like it rough and nasty.
