Your search for vegan tamales is over! - Edit
Today was my second time going to La Galeria specifically for their vegan tamales. They were just as flavorful as I remembered from January. Mine was filled with a mole and wrapped in a plantain leaf, and my niece’s was filled with spicy mushrooms and enfolded in the typical maize wrapper. We also got a cappuccino and a chai latte with oat milk. The only slight complaint I would have is the chai latte had some graininess in the foam, but that sure didn’t stop me from drinking all of it.

Read moreThey sell a large variety of vegan tamales--both corn-leaf and banana-leaf wrapped--as well as a number of exotic and delicious cacao drinks, and ice cream. You really could not hope for a better combination.
They have both sweet and savory tamales, and I decided to try their sweet apple tamale and the sweet fig tamale. Both were warm from their vapor cooker and absolutely delicious! Even more so paired with one of their warm cacao-based drinks (like different types of hot chocolates but water based and with different spices and such). Everything was so incredibly tasty and homey. I could not recommend this place more highly!
Staff is also very friendly and the cafe features fun chairs and fun decor.
