Casi nada vegano, caro y lento - Edit

They made a vegan meal for me - Edit
I didn’t see any vegan options on the menu, but the server said the cook could make me a vegan meal. He came back to see if the options sounded good to me. I enjoyed two regional dishes - mazamorra (a cold soup made from almonds, bread, garlic, vinegar, and olive oil - garnished with figs) and esparregado (a warm stew with garbanzo beans, spinach, and more). They said their lunch menu del día has vegan options. It was a pleasant dining experience!

Good food and vibe - Edit
We tried two places prior to la boca but fully booked so weren’t expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. Would give a 5. Staff were very accommodating, felt like they went the extra mile to adapt dishes for us and gave us loads of info. Natural wines and local beer. Really great service. 5*. Way more interesting than another plain dish or tomato pasta/pizza. Food was delicious.

sad - Edit
no protein for vegans. udon noodles sounded the most veganizable, i asked for less salt due to the reviews and it was still on the border of being too salty. also portion is too small, especially since it's just vegetables

Decent but not great - Edit
Agree with previous reviewer in that the fake meat options are no longer provided (neither seitan, tofu, or tempeh). Too bad. I wish I would have seen that review before coming.
Read moreVegan/vegetarian options are kind of hard to find and the waiter needs to let you know which dishes can be made vegan or vegetarian.
Pros: The soba noodles were good (though very salty), Waiter was willing to assist me with options
Cons: No “fake” meat options, Vegan/vegetarian options hard to find, Menu isn’t in English

No meat substitutes - Edit
Read previous reviews of meat substitutes. Don’t seem to do that anymore. Nor tofu. Lentils only in the morning? Food was overly salty or overly peppery and uninspired. Pace has cute potential but comes off beat up and tired. Waiter was gracious.

Amazing fusion food - and vanilla ice cream! - Edit
The vegan "poke taco" (taco on sea weed) and the poke bowl (fish replaced with tofu/tempeh) were simply incredible. For dessert, we had vegan vanilla ice cream (difficult to find in Spain) with strawberries, it was absolutely delicious!!! None of this is on the menu, but you can simply ask for vegan food (or show the photos on happy cow😉). The waiters were very nice as well. Totally recommend this place!

Interesting restaurant - Edit
I went here with a fish eating friend. We loved it! The atmosphere, the way the restaurant was decorated (casual chique) and especially the waiter, who must love his job. My friend ordered a glass of white wine and he let her taste 3 different (not very ordinary) wines. She could choose from the menu, I got the fixed vegetarian menu. A lentil dish, an egg made in a culinary way and a dessert of icecream, strawberries and crumble. All very good. They charged me only €10 for the menu and I still wonder if that was a mistake. Not sure if they could cater for vegans.

Not bad but pricey - Edit
We ordered the Thai curry and Korean bulgogi, which were both €12.50. The food tasted alright but the curry had mostly potatoes in it (my partner said it was like patata guisada) and no decent replacement for the chicken. The bulgogi was OK but the veges were overcooked and the portion was small. We ate everything so it wasn't that bad, but it would have been great if they had some decent vegan substitutes for meat such as tofu or heura or better veges.

Incredible - Edit
The service was incredible. They have a veggie day menu but the lovely waiter adapted it to make it vegan. I had minestrone soup, a type of potato salad with broccoli and cauliflower (was so yummy!) and some friend apple gyoza with vegan ice cream. I will defo be returning to this lovely spot😄

Recomendable with potential for improvement - Edit
We had dinner with a larger, vegan-vegetarian group at "La Boca". For a larger group, it is definitely advisable to make a reservation in advance. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and the interior design is particularly tasteful. The waiter was very friendly and able to explain the menu and the vegan and vegetarian options to us in both English and Spanish. We appreciated that he took the time to do this, even though he was alone and therefore very busy. The food was delicious and there were at least four vegan dishes to choose from, including noodles and a burger. There was also a vegan dessert with oat-based vanilla ice cream and apple-filled dumplings that is highly recommendable. A few little things could be improved to make this a five-star experience: Some of the portions were too small for us and we would have liked sauce with the fries. Also, it would be desirable to be able to access the menu without having to give out your phone number to have it sent to you on WhatsApp - either using a QR code or a printed menu. All in all, we enjoyed the evening very much and will certainly come back again!

2 opciones vegetarianas y 1 vegana - Edit

Limited but tasty vegan options - Edit
There are no vegan/vegetarian options explicitly listed on the menu, just items with asterisks noting that they can be made vegetarian. That said, they seemed to be knowledgeable about how to make items vegan, and the waitress pointed out four options where they could replace the meat with seitan, tofu, and tempeh. I think these options were a mango salad without the meat, a mushroom kebab, a Thai noodle bowl with seitan and peppers, and a Poke bowl with tofu, tempeh, seaweed, avocado and rice. We ordered the last two and were pleasantly surprised: the meat replacements were well prepared and served alongside diverse vegetables. They were a bit expensive though: €15.50 might be reasonable for a poke bowl with fish, but it should definitely cost less with tempeh and tofu.
Read moreUnfortunately, we were with 3 rather picky omnis who were not able to find anything that appealed to them— most of the dishes contain strange meat items such as foie gras, octopus, cow cheek, etc. There is a chicken and couscous and a couple battered fish items for the picky eater, but the ones in my group weren’t taking chances. Additionally, vegans and vegetarians may be put off by a place that is so heavily oriented towards meat dishes like lamb that are particularly offensive morally.
However, we found vegan options in Cordoba to be very limited so we were relieved to have anywhere at all to eat something other than a salad and fries. And it opens for dinner an hour earlier than most places (7:30), so if you are used to eating dinner at 7 like us, you won’t have to wait as long to eat.
Pros: Nice vegan options in a city with limited options, Good atmosphere and service, Open early for dinner
Cons: Serves meat items like lamb, No vegan items explicitly mentioned, Pretty pricey
