Convenient and yummy! - Edit
It's convenient because there's not much vegan food at kyoto station. And vegan soba are still very rare here!

Wouldn‘t specifically come back - Edit
Forgot to take a picture. Came here because we were starving and the location is convenient after arriving with the train. Ordered the rice bowl with vegan meat and tofu & a side salad with udon. The rice bowl was disappointing, but the side salad was decent. There was also a weird smell when we entered the restaurant.

I had a great cold soba dish on the ground floor of the Kyoto train station. Ordering was simple on an iPad where I could choose my language preferences.

Tasty vegan options and super fast service - Edit
Restaurant in the shopping mall beneath Kyōto Station with the fastest service I ever encountered.
Read moreIf you are having problems finding it (like me 🤪) and are coming from the the central entrance or Shinkansen trains follow the signs to the Kintetsu underground line. Right to the entrance to the line is an escalator which leads to the restaurant street of the Kintetsu Shopping Mall where Kyoto Soba-Morihei is located.
Went there in the early evening and had to wait 10-15 minutes but it was worth it and the super fast service made it up anyways. Ordering is done via tablet which you can set to english. They have four vegan options and an extra point in the menu for them.
I chose the tempura bowl which comes with a soba noodle salat and pickles as side dish. It was very yummy.
Very good possibility to get some vegan food after a daytrip and returning to Kyōto Station.

Catered for all our family dietary requirements - Edit
It's very hard travelling with multiple dietary needs, including severe allergies. My daughter, who is vegan, very much enjoyed her vegan tempura and soba noodle dish. The waitress was very helpful in helping us with the selection available for our son with several severe food allergies. The food was great, and the staff was very personable. It was a very enjoyable evening

Good cold Soba Soup - Edit
We had the hot and cold Soba Noodels Soups. The hot soup was good, but we liked the cold soup more because it was tastier and the noodles where harder and not completely soaked with soup and too mushy. The extra 180 Yen (about 1 Euro/1 Dollar) for more noodels it's worth it when you are hungry.

Pros: Tasty cold Soba Soup, 180 Yen for extra more noodels, Convenient location

Good but not the best - Edit
We went there right after arriving at our hotel and looked for something quick and vegan. It was perfect for this but these udon noodles were not the best I had during my stay in Japan!

Very nice restaurant - Edit
I was desperately looking for some vegan food in Japan. And this one was quite a catch. It’s not located under the station but it’s on the same level as the ground/street.
Read moreI was also searching it for quite a long time cause some descriptions are really misleading. It’s at Kintetsu Mall. There are three malls at the station but look for Kintetsu. Also they put a menu pictures in the front window stating they have vegan options which is really nice. Food was awesome and until now I managed to try two vegan menues already and loved them. Would definitely recommend!

Good noodles, decent tempura - Edit
We were looking for something to eat close to the station and this did the job nicely. There were 4 vegan options, you order from a tablet on the table and there is a clear vegan section.
Read moreMy partner and I both got the rice bowl and tempura. It came with a side noodle salad where you can choose between soba or udon noodles, we both went for udon. The tempura bowl was good, there were a variety of well coated vegetables. Some were hot and crispy but some were a bit cold and soggy. The rice in the bowl was dressed in some sort of sauce so it had a bit of flavour, I personally would have preferred a bit more sauce.
The side salad was great. Plenty of noodles, some sliced onions, a green leaf of some sorts and crispy noodles on top all dressed in a well balanced sweet and sharp dressing.
I'm not sure why people say this is hard to find, you need to follow signs to the kintetsu mall and you need to be down on the first floor of the station building if you're coming directly from there. Once in the mall, you can check the directory and it's number 28. The location on Google Maps was pretty much spot on.

Good if you’re looking for a quick option at the station - Edit
Once we found this place (please don’t rely on google maps) we loved it. Great that it has a separate vegan menu, all the ordering is done via a tablet on your table.
Read moreVery quick service. Tempura pretty decent and the soba salad side was yummy.
As previously mentioned go down the escalator opposite the JR ticket area (not the one near the main station entrance at the bus terminal-the other one) and head straight on from there.
Dropped a star as there was a lot of meat/fish on the menu and on all the pictures around the place which was a little bit off putting, not their fault just my issue.

Nice vegan options in train station - Edit
A little difficult to find (Google maps forgot to tell us to go down one more level), but once we got there, service was fast and convenient. If you are at the JR ticket line, go in the opposite direction down a set of escalators and walk about 400m (past the bathroom on the right)
Read moreSeveral vegan options to choose from, price expected for being at the station. Staff spoke English, and menu was readily laid out with a large page front and back of the vegan options. Hot soba soup was made with kelp broth, and was pretty decent. Not as flavorful as a ramen, but had plenty of noodles, veggies, and fried tofu. My partner got the rice with tofu and soy meat, with the set for cold soba noodle salad on the side. The large bowl with tofu was a bit bland, but the soba noodle salad had a delicious dressing on it that he then put on his tofu bowl.
Pros: Convenient, Several vegan options to choose from
Cons: A little bland, but not bad
