Dishes may include signature curry leaf coconut rice, mutton biryani with brinjal moji, jackfruit peratal, appam, and a selection of cakes. Afternoon tea available, book in advance. Spices and teas come from the owner's family's plantations. Some dishes also feature the influence of early Portuguese colonialists and Southeast Asian spices on the evolution of Sri Lankan cooking. Great Sri Lankan tasting menu - Edit
Went here to celebrate Deepavali in Little India. Enjoyed the 6-course tasting dinner. Nicely varied tastes, even with some options which we decided to share. Very friendly and attentive staff. Have to come back another time for the high tea experience!

Dissapointed - Edit
The food was delicious, great restaurant and nice service.
Read moreWhy the 3, well I reserved a table and pre-paid for Sunday brunch with Champagne.
An hour before our arrival I was called to say Sunday brunch was no longer on offer and their booking system needed to be updated. I said that was fine and would be happy to order from the menu. We did it was delicious.
When it came to the bill (I had already prepaid for brunch and champagne), the cost of our lunch and drinks was less than I had already paid. I asked to be refunded the difference. I was told they didn’t do refunds, so they would not repay me the difference. Eventually Kuntha said they would refund the difference to my card. Still not happened and no response to e-mail. You can still book a Sunday Brunch on their website!
A disappointing end to an otherwise lovely meal!

Delicious Vegan Sri Lankan Cuisine - Edit
I am not a vegan. I admire those who have the determination and conviction to adopt a vegan lifestyle, but it is not one that I will follow.
Read moreThat does not stop me from enjoying a delicious and hearty vegan meal. The food that we enjoyed at Kunthaville was flavourful, rich, delicate and wonderfully balanced. Spice levels varied but nothing too far beyond what South-east Asian cuisine has prepared our palates for.
In their special 10 course degustation menu, the culinary team at Kunthaville brought us on a journey of Sri Lankan traditional food with a bit of a modern take. Flat bread with chutneys and Dosa were delightful appetisers. Coconut rice dishes with different combinations such as caramelised onion, eggplant, mango chutney, chilli pastes were flavour bombs that make me salivate as I remember them while writing this review. Idiyappam in Sodhi (a coconut milk based vegetable stew) was light yet comforting. All the dishes were thoughtfully paired with tea from the chef owner's family tea plantations, where they even grow and import the spices used in their dishes.
Desserts were also lovely, with contrasting textures, savoury, sweet, rich (coconut milk) and held together with a tinge of their signature spices. My favourites were the banana fritters and the sago and coconut pudding.
All in all my wife and I enjoyed every dish that came out and enjoyed ourselves very much in the very photogenic, restored heritage shop house restaurant, dining in a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

Gorgeous food in friendly, stylish setting - Edit
This place is a cut above the normal - Sri Lankan food is one of our favourites already and the food here confirmed how fabulous it can be. Silky aubergines bursting with flavour, fluffy lemon rice, crisp, light appams, and earthy jackfruit, all finished off with a refreshing tea, gin and mint cocktail. Will definitely be back.

expensive for singapore but absolutely delicious - Edit
highly recommend this place. i had the coconut rice with assorted curries and it was excellent. Much of the vegan food available is fried and or greasy so it was nice to get some INCREDIBLY flavorful veggies. Also have an assortment of vegan desserts. I had the wattalapam which was tasty but not excellent.

Great meal for special occasion - Edit
While it is rather expensive, the food is delicious and it was worth the splurge. The cocktails are reasonably priced by Singapore standards. I went for my birthday and was well taken care of. Everything was delicious and the service and vibe were on point.

Delicious food. Jackfruit done right! Great location. Wonderful ambience and staff. - Edit
The venue was lovely- very tastefully designed, comfortable, and in a great location in Little India.
Read moreThe food was all very good. We had the mixed plate and my daughter had the roti. The desert (pictured) was a tasty mix of jellies, chia, and coconut cream.
Prices are on the higher side, but not unreasonable given their investments in quality ambience and cuisine.
Pros: Tasty food, Jackfruit done right!, Comfortable seating and ambience
Cons: A bit pricier- but nothing unreasonable

Didn’t feel welcome - Edit
It was a weird vibe sitting here. I didn’t feel welcome. There was no one else and they gave me the receipt just after I was done eating. The service could use some optimization.

I had never tried Sri Lankan food prior to visiting Kunthaville and I was so impressed. The paan roti with potato varuval and vegetable curry were both delicious and flavourful. Would recommend.

A little upmarket - Edit
This was the priciest spot I hit up in Singapore, but if you’re after a cool experience, this place is worth checking out. They’ve got a bunch of unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else, plus an afternoon tea and a tasting menu.
The vibe here is a mix of almost fine dining but still super casual. Think high ceilings, awesome decor, and comfy seating.
I kicked things off with the patties, which were light, fluffy, and baked just right. The chili dip was amazing – I’d love to get the recipe.
For my main, I went with the vegan mutton kothu, which came with some cucumber and baby tomatoes. It was tasty, light, and moist. Unlike most South Asian food, it wasn’t in a gravy but still had a great fragrance and a slow-building kick.
Sure, the prices are a bit up there, but the food is fantastic, and the portions are decent. If you’re after a cheap, filling meal, there are plenty of options nearby. But if you’re looking for a bit more quality and service, this place could be your jam.
Pros: Staff, Food, Ambiance

Delicious vegan Sri Lankan dishes and tasteless cake - Edit
The extensive menu has plenty veganized/vegan Sri Lankan dishes that are delightful.
Read moreDeciding on what to eat wasn't easy as everything sounded tasty. I ordered the vegan mutton kothu roti, a common street food dish, and loved it. The portion size could have been a bit bigger but flavor-wise it was delicious.
For dessert I had a piece of their many different cakes. Unfortunately, that was really not good. Firstly, I think the cake was heated in the microwave. I don't know if that's common here on Singapore (or Sri Lanka), but I didn't like it. Especially, since some of it was still cols. Secondly, the cake just didn't taste good. I lt tasted old (not baked that day), had a strong flavor of baking soda, and was just overall flavorless.
Come here for the main dishes and get dessert somewhere else.
I would give 4 stars but the cake was a really disappointing conclusion for my dinner.

The Epitome of Death (Not Vegan) - Edit
So excited to find an all vegan Sri Lankan restaurant in Singapore! Nope! The hostess told me they only sell dairy milk for coffee, as if I could only possibly be concerned about cross-contamination. I told her I was mislead to believe it was a vegan restaurant and would be leaving. It's just milk she said. I said, "It's the epitome of death!" Which, seems like poetic license but when you consider murdering at least one baby every other year four days after birth and one mother every five years when she's too traumatized to lactate after repeated infanticide. Well, I really can't think of a more horrific commercial product of death. Can you?

I am visiting the restaurant at the moment and they only have plant based milk. Hopefully that’s a win. 👍

Décent food but terrible value - Edit
I would not return to this place.
Read moreDisappointing portion sizes. The food was barely warm and quite expensive. The flavours in the curry were great but it was too small.
Also ordered the cheesy toast and the cheez does not melt at all and it it’s covered in raw onion which is not specified on the menu.
A pretty and expensive disappointing meal. I also tried to give them feedback and they ignored me,
I left this meal feeling truly disappointed.
