Was alright - Edit
Café with nice vegan and vegetarian food options. The coffee was very good. the food was okey, could tasted better. We tried the tofu scramble wrap, avocado toast and big vegan breakfast. The avo toast tasted nice, also the vegan energy balls. We didn’t like the vegan sausages.. also the wrap was not our taste. Cute location though, but very expensive

An oasis in the busy capital city - Edit
Enjoyed an iced coffee (with oat milk) along with mushrooms and avocado on toast, all of which tasted great. Lovely setting both indoor and outdoor. Clearly labelled menu, with plenty of options. Would eat here again.

Tasty vegan breakfast burrito! - Edit
Ordered via Uber eats one morning for breakfast as my hostel didn’t have any vegan options.
Read moreThe vegan burrito was really tasty, as were the crispy potatoes on the side and the sauce it came with. I thought it was a good portion for breakfast.
Also had an iced latte with oat milk which I have no complaints about. Everything came quickly.
Yes it’s a little pricey for Sri Lanka, but it’s western food and it’s hardly breaking the bank realistically if you’re a tourist.
Pros: Tasty food, Fast delivery
Cons: Not fully veggie/vegan, Extra for oat milk

Uneven experience - Edit
Nice fiery ginger kombucha and food was alright, but not too memorable and overpriced. My sister asked for no jalapeños in her dish, but was given jalapeños. Servers could be a little more attentive, but service was decent and friendly enough. Was a little disappointed to see that 'visibly foreign' diners at the table next to us were getting preferential treatment, including the bribe of a complimentary dessert for writing a good review. This is commonplace in hospitality settings across Colombo, but usually more discreet; this was so blatant and left a bad taste in our mouths! Where was our free cake?! 😱

Pros: Free WiFi , Decent food, Dynamic seating

The food is good! You can find some Vegan options and drink a good, a really good, cappuccino with coconut milk.

Not worth the money - Edit
Please note this is a subjective opinion. Our bill for one latte and two very small vegan burritos was 4300 rupees. I feel like it's too expensive.
Read moreMy friend did not even get full because the portion was small. I didn't like the coffee. I also didn't like that the add on for vegan milk varied from 190 (coconut) to 370 (cashew). I might be wrong but i feel like it's too much to charge someone who doesn't wanna participate in cow abuse.
Pros: Nice interior, lots of greenery, Clean, Vegan options clearly labeled
Cons: Very expensive, Ridiculously small portions , Not many vegan options

Okay - Edit
Nice place! I lived upstairs so one day I decided to check out what they have. Got a green juice without honey but for me ice in juice (which was already very small) isn’t a very good sign ✌🏻 #Veganuary

Great Coffee - Some vegan options - Edit
This is a really nice cafe with friendly staff and a great ambience. I have had great avocado on toast here - however they have recently changed the menu and added feta to this - perhaps signalling a move away from vegan options (hopefully it can still be veganised).
Read moreIt is also worth clearly stating that you want your food to be vegan, even if labelled as such on the menu. Our pasta was served covered in parmesan on our last visit.
I am giving it three stars because the staff and coffee are great, but for me maybe more of a place for coffee and cake than a meal.
Pros: Some vegan options, Friendly staff, Nice ambience
Cons: Serves meat

Beautiful Location - Edit
We visited Kumbuk twice for coffee, the first time accompanied by avocado and mushroom toast, and the second with a delicious vegan-friendly chocolate cake.
Read moreThe cafe itself is beautiful - bright and airy, with lots of greenery surrounding it.
There are quite a few vegan-friendly options on the menu and I’m sure we will be back to try more (or at least for more great coffee and cake) on our next visit to Colombo.
Pros: Good range of vegan-friendly options., Very good coffee., Beautiful setting.
Cons: Not fully vegan., Not fully veggie.

Vegan chocolate cake! - Edit
I ordered the jackfruit burger and the vegan chocolate cake and both were delicious! I just wish there had been a few more chips with the burger. Nice atmosphere, WiFi and they accept card payments. I would recommend if you’re vegan in Colombo

Incredible vegan food!! - Edit
Really nice cafe with good vegan options, decent coffee, smoothies and desserts. I ate here twice!
Read moreFor breakfast the pancakes were absolutely amazing! The pancakes themselves are already vegan, so you can just swap the curd topping for coconut ice cream. Also tried the vegan breakfast wrap which was pretty good, it was an open wrap with tofu scramble and salad. For coffees they offer soy or coconut milk.
For lunch I had the jackfruit burger, extra thick cut chips, the ‘pick me up’ smoothie and vegan chocolate cake. EVERYTHING WAS 10/10 DELICIOUS! The best vegan chocolate mud cake I’ve ever had.
Pros: Delicious food, Nice atmosphere, Good service
Cons: Pricey

I love Kumbuk (and their sister cafe Plus Nine Four).
Read moreThey have a brilliant tofu scramble breakfast wrap and also a jackfruit burger. They use metal straws. They have plant based milk. It's right next door to Prana Lounge yoga studio. The vibe is great, I just love it.
Pros: The vegan options are DELICIOUS, Great atmosphere, Next to a yoga studio
Cons: They serve meat, They could alter more options on the menu to vegan

Very cute cafe in Colombo - Edit
Went to Cafe Kumbuk for breakfast by myself. The menu is clearly marked with vegan options. I requested the pancakes with caramelised banana which is a vegetarian dish but they were more than happy to make it vegan for me. It was delicious. Also got the vegan breakfast wrap for takeaway which was also very good. The cafe is very cute and comfortable place to hang out.
