The vegan chicken shawarma wrap might just be the best wrap I’ve had since eating plant-based 4 months ago.

An Egyptian locale to spice up the palette. - Edit
Egyptian is not a common food option I’ve come across. I believe this is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of tasting its style. It’s definitely not my usual palette of flavors, that said, it was most enjoyable and very filling! It’s in a cute location too.

Fun skit! - Edit
All-vegan. Located inside a stand-alone food court/food hall. Very friendly staff. I thought the lentils and pasta were a bit bland, but the toppings were very good and it was heart and filling! Probably more a 4.5 than a 4.0.

Very Good Food - Edit
I would definitely recommend the Vegan Chickn Shwarma Wrap. Doesn't come with many potatoes and they're good so ask for extra.

Egyptian Street Food in Clarksville! - Edit
We stopped here last Friday night for a quick bite before our trip to the theater. It is one restaurant in a food court full of unique options. We loved the fully vegan menu. The food was really tasty and the staff was very helpful in explaining the choices. We’ll be back.

Great little shop in a food hall - Edit
So, you go to a food hall, but you're vegan. What do you do? Wander around aimlessly perusing menus and wondering what can you veganize?
Read moreYeah, no.
Here is Koshary by Misteka in a food hall to save the vegan day. This place is delicious. I love the food - it's so simple. Whole grains like quinoa and brown rice, and salad veggies with fresh mint, and then the lentils are cooked just right, and then some gf pasta for fun and the sauces. Yum. Love this place!
I love falafel, and theirs is super yummy and flavorful and delightfully crispy.
They have so many dressings it's hard to decide, but I go for the classic Tahini base, but add garlic. It's so simple, and it's so good. So good!
The salads make me happiest, because I like salad. Tofu quinoa salad, yes - so generous with the tofu. Falafel and the potato wedges - Ohmigosh, those potato wedges are delicious!
They have wraps, too, so if you like your falafel wrapped or would like to try Beyond Meat kebabs - go for it.
You'll be so happy here, vegan at a Food Hall! Portions are great!
Pros: salad, quinoa, portion size
Cons: in a food hall with other places

I found this place as they were advertised on Yelp when searching the keyword “vegan”. They are in the Common Market- which has a vegan option at every food stand :). All of their food is vegan and everything is gluten free except the literal bread and baklava. I loved the Koshary bowl. I added tofu and falafel. The tofu was great. My partner got the beyond meat and he loved it. We are definitely going back.

Worth driving two hours RT for takeout - unique food w/SOS-free options! - Edit
June 4, 2020 was the first day in three months that I ate a meal I didn't cook for myself at home! My house is at least an hour RT drive from veg-friendly restaurants -- and when the COVID lockdown started, I swore I wouldn't drive that far for takeout. But when I learned about Koshary-by-Misteka, I decided to make an exception -- driving two hours RT, and being very glad I did. Every dish at this unique Egyptian street food restaurant is fresh, filling, and flavorful -- and the menu is not only plant-based, but now offers numerous salt/oil/sugar (SOS)-free dishes every Thursday, as well!
Read moreIman, the proprietor, was incredibly helpful about answering questions and handling my order through a Facebook link in advance. "I want to impress you," she said -- and I could see that she meant it!
My takeout haul on this particular occasion, which was enough for three full meals, was (clockwise from top left):
1) Falafel salad.
2) Koshary bowl.
3) Zucchini boats stuffed with rice, lentils, and veggies.
4) Falafel platter with eggplant and potatoes.
I think my favorite for flavor was the falafel platter -- quite filling too, so I made sure not to eat too much at once. The zucchini boat dish, somewhat lighter, was perhaps my favorite overall.
I also love the fact that Koshary has worked with local charities to donate more than 3,000 free meals in the community since establishment in 2018.
Pros: Unique and delicious food, Super helpful proprietor, SOS-free options on advance request

If you’re looking for a fast-casual vegan meal from someone who truly loves to cook and loves her customers, Koshary by Misteka is where it’s at. The only con? It’s not next door to my apartment. 😉😉

Delicious Filling Food! - Edit
I love trying new culinary experiences and I kick myself for not trying this sooner. The food is delicious, filling, and full of flavor. You can order online ahead of time and eat there or take it to go. I ended up ordering (accidentally) enough food for probably 4 meals at a good price. It's in a food court so I appreciate that I can bring my non-vegan friends here and everybody can get something they're going to like.

Located in Columbia in The Common Kitchen food court type establishment. It was a little difficult with mapping to find it as signage is not prominent.
Read moreHowever, I’m very glad that I did find it. I was originally trying to find another vegan restaurant in Columbia, but forgot it is closed on Mondays. Looked on our HappyCow app to find another one and this was literally in the next shopping area.
Very pleased and full with the bowl. I did see another customer’s Egyptian breakfast platter, which also looked very yummy. Will have to return to get it next time.

Aiee!! I’m full and could not help but order Koshary, the national dish of Egypt. It is vegan and it is incredible. Go here. Eat the amazing food and meet the fab owner Iman. (My fault if I misspelled her name.) Just ask her to make you what she thinks you should have. She has a talent for putting just the right flavors together for your palette.

One of my faves!! Best potato wedges & sauces, plus delicious, filling Koshary bowl!!! - Edit
The potato wedges here are sooo good. I get at least 2 orders of them usually, so that I have enough for 2 days or less.. cuz I can eat them fast. Make sure you get dipping sauces for them, the garlic one is soo good - it's like a buttery garlic sauce, if you like garlic you will loveee it. I also love the flavorful, spicy red pepper sauce. I get plenty of each and dip my potatoes in both. As the main meal, the koshary bowl is so good and filling! I like to get it with quinoa and rice and all the usual fix-ins. They add so much delicious, healthy stuff in this and the portion is great, I don't think I've ever finished it in one sitting (especially after so many potato wedges) Then I add falafel to make it more filling, and top it off with both red pepper and garlic sauce to make it more saucy. I go here once a week on average, or more. Oh, and not to forget about the people! Nice workers, and the owner is so sweet and passionate about about the earth and the food she serves. We've gotten into nice little conversations here and there and she is environmentally concsious and you can tell how beautiful she is inside & out!!

Delicious Vegan Food - Edit
I kept seeing positive reviews on the common kitchen, so I stopped by to grab lunch with my boyfriend. I was so excited when I saw the koshery was 100% vegan with lots of great options. I ordered a falafel wrap, which came with seasoned potato wedges (I got an avocado dipping sauce, yum!). The portions were very generous, it all tasted amazing, and very reasonably priced. Also loved the environment and concept behind the common kitchen, there were a lot of other options in the food court for my omnivore family so everyone’s happy. I’ll definitely be going back!

A gem! - Edit
I stumbled upon this place while checking out the Common Kitchen. So wonderful to have a unique addition to the vegan food scene-unlike any other vegan restaurant in the area. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the koshary bowl and a kofta. Yumm! As if that wasn't enough, the food is extremely reasonably priced, and part of the profits go to helping refugees. I will be going here as often as I can. It is totally brilliant!

Vegan bowls and salads - Edit
Misteka is the latest addition to The Common Kitchen in Clarksville on route 108 across from Columbia’s River Hill village in a sustainable retail and food development. Misteka is vegan-only, serving Egyptian street-food, AKA Koshary. They have small-, regular-, and large-size grain bowls, tofu or falafel balls, and salads. Once you select a particular size bowl you can get as many or few types of ingredients as you like to fill the bowl. Ingredients include white and brown rice or quinoa, lentils, gluten free pasta, a signature tomato sauce, chickpeas, fried onions, and dukkak. The salad included tomatoes, cucumber, onions, lettuce, arugula, dill, coriander, and lemon and can be topped with avocado lime or Tahini dressing or garlic sauce. They also have kid- size cups. Prices are reasonable. I got one regular-size bowl for $8.75, 3 falafel balls for $2.50 and a side salad for $1.00 for take home. It filled two regular bowls for two persons at home. One can also dine in in an informal cafe- and market-style ambiance in a hall that also houses other vendors selling ice cream, coffee, and Indian food. The building is right around the corner from Roots Food market which has a good vegan selection for grocery shopping. Misteka’s service was fast, friendly, and informative. The food tasted delicious. A nice touch is that they donate 1 dish to those in need for every 3 dishes they sell. I will definitely go back there.
