Egyptian all-vegan street food with a twist. Koshari, one of Egypt’s national dishes, is the main offering. It is a hearty dish composed of rice, lentils, chickpeas & pasta, topped with a spicy tomato sauce and fried onions. Offers six different sauce options with different spice levels. Additional items include eggplant bowls, seasonal specials, and side dishes. Relocated from 1 Bow Market Way. Open Wed-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm, Sun 11:00am-8:00pm.

Always amazing - Edit
Every time i come i order the mushroom shawerma sub. Even my friends who don’t like mushrooms order this sub. The sauce is delicious, mini carmelized onions, mushrooms, basically everything. And i always get the sahleb tea, it’s similar to chai, but has like a rice pudding in the tea. The rice pudding dessert is also good but i wish it was heated up.

Koshari - Edit
This was my first time trying koshari, and it was so delicious! I wasn't sure how spicy things would be here, so I tried it with the mild sauce. In the future, I would go for a higher spice level. I also got the rice pudding, which was great.

Vegan Koshari joint in Summerville? That's awesome. Cairo doesn't even have a vegan koshari (or any other kind of vegan) restaurant. 😅😅😅

I know, right! This was so good. I wish vegan Egyptian places were more common. I saw your review for the only "vegan" place in Cairo... 😬

I found a ful cart that was plant based by coincidence and it literally packed up and ran away from the police while I was eating. The funniest thing. Wish I could add those guys to happy cow.

Found this place walking home after a “smash the patriarchy” event. Had zero expectations. Was delicious!!! Got the split pea dish and a hot chocolate. Both top notch!

An elegant experience - Edit
In 2021 I went to their old Bow Market hole in the wall for takeout, but this was my first time at the sit down location. WOW, what an upgrade! The place is beautiful. My girlfriend and I went for a late lunch, ordered a feast, and everything was glorious. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food is transcendent, and the vibes are good. It was my idea to go, but despite not being veg, my girlfriend already wants to go back ^_^ We'll call that a success!

Great Egyptian Food - Edit
This was my first time having Egyptian food and it was great. I ordered the signature dish, a Koshari bowl, and it was simple but delicious. I also had an eggplant sandwich and their hummus. Everything was good.

Delicious Egyptian Food! - Edit
I tried their signature Koshari Dish and the Konafa dessert. The Koshari was excellent! I am someone who eats a lot of rice and beans, so the Koshari was an absolute treat. I loved the Konafa too! One of the desserts that is not easy to come by when you're vegan.

Everything is amazing! - Edit
We ordered take out and got their famous koshari bowl (a fantastic concoction of vegan heaven featuring chickpeas, lentils, macaroni, rice and some kind of amazing garlic delicious sauce), falafel platter (3 pieces with marvelous side salad with lemon garlic dressing loaded with pickled veggies and olives with hummus and yogurt sauces on the side) and for dessert the konafa (think a super sweet caramel kind of rich birds nest that tastes incredible). We had never had proper Egyptian food before and were blown away. The koshari is a must try, it’s unique and so full of flavor and carbaliciois satisfaction. We can’t wait to go back and try more!

Disappointing - Edit
I was so excited to try their signature koshari dish, but was very disappointed. The lentils were undercooked, to the point of being almost hard, and the dish lacked flavor without the sauce (and then, with the spicy sauce I ordered, the sauce was all I could taste). It was a shame, because I love the idea of vegan Egyptian street food, and the decor inside the restaurant is really terrific--very stylish and chic, like a boutique restaurant in Greenwich Village. Maybe the other dishes are better--I hope so, because I would like to see this place succeed.

This is likely the only all-vegan Egyptian restaurant I've ever been to. The signature dish is koshari, which is a bit of everything: lentils, rice, pasta, chickpeas, spices. It was delicious and filling. They also have items like hummus, falafel, and tabouleh. Very nice place!

Fresh food, good menu of delicious Mediterranean food, coffee, drinks and beverages. The restaurant is clean, cozy decoration, nice ambiance. Great service, fast and corteous. I would have enjoyed some Egyptian music in the background instead of Latin music. I will definitely go back to try other dishes.

A new favorite! - Edit
Came here for my birthday dinner based on the enthusiastic reviews here on Happy Cow, and it STILL exceeded expectations! Both of the staff we interacted with were so kind and friendly, and all of the food was off the charts. We were given a sample of the lentil soup and it was so light and flavorful and warming: perfect for a cold day. I got koshari, which I’ve never had before, and every component was just perfect. It was a huge serving, too - I brought home another meal’s worth as leftovers! 😋 My date, an omnivore, got a dish with thick cut fries, garlic sauce, and deep fried impossible burger: they loved it and were still talking about the garlic sauce after we got home! I was even surprised with a container of sesame date cookies after I blabbed that it was my birthday. They’re so good! I’ve been slowly savoring them and sharing them and remembering a wonderful meal every time I bite into one.

Koshari might be my new favorite food! Every component of the dish is flavorful in its own way. A great balance of protein and carbs. I can't wait to go back and try the other offerings, especially eggplant. This was my first time trying Egyptian food. I felt like the food was prepared with love and care.

Ordered food for a small party of 10 people. I've spent time in Egypt, but my friends have not. They didn't know what Egyptian food is and they loved it! It's simple food, made simply, with lots of flavor. We had a platter of Koshari (rice bowl with lentils, pasta, onions, chickpeas), fermented vegetables, eggplant, Balady bread, salad with mint dressing, and rice pudding and Konafa (shredded wheat and coconut cream) for dessert.
