Serves meat, vegan options available. Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant but vegans could get a tofu and veggie hibachi plate as well as veggie sushi and veggie appetizers such as spring rolls and veggie tempura (though likely cooked in shared fryer). Make sure to ask for the ginger dressing if getting the tempura or salad. Also, the soup that comes with a meal is made with chicken broth, but staff can bring you 2 salads instead of soup and salad.

Thoughtful veg options for a steakhouse

First off to help avoid any confusion: the signage for the restaurant says its name is "Kudo" but inside says "Kobe". The place has a lounge and restaurant with a separate hibachi area if you want the show of a Japanese steakhouse. (If you don't know this, hibachi means they cook the food in front of you on a big grill in the center of your 10 seat table.) They have several choices of vegan sushi. I tried the combination vegetable version (see photo) which was very good. I was worried about getting the vegetable hibachi dinner because I was envisioning the meats cooked on the same grill at the same time with the same instruments. I asked the chef to cook mine with different instruments and instead he very wonderfully cooked my entire meal first before he even started cooking all of the meat and shrimp and eggs. I would recommend just asking the chef to do that. If your party ordered sushi, it won't be too awkward for you to have your main dish before they do since everybody is already eating anyway. The veggie hibachi dish includes a bunch of veggies and sauteed tofu and was very good, especially with the ginger sauce added. Be aware that the fried rice has egg in it but you can just ask for steamed rice. Also beware that the standard soup is made with beef broth, but you can substitute their miso soup which they said is vegan. The ginger salad dressing was excellent and was also vegan. The price for the veggie hibachi was only $10 so it's very reasonable (includes soup, salad, rice). My flesh-eating friends were very happy with their meals so it's a good place to go in mixed company. It's a very pleasant interior and a nice place to go for a special occasion. I'm giving it a high rating because options are so limited in Lawton and they were very accommodating.
