Fanciest canteen in town

Klorofüll is advertised both as the new canteen for the artists working in the legendary ARS complex, and a laid back restaurant on its own. To reach it after work in the city centre, you definitely have to make an effort, and I‘m glad they recently extended their closing time from 6 to 7PM, giving more people a chance to find their way to this part of the town, and to room nr. 208. We arrived an hour before closing time and had the restaurant to ourselves for most of the time. The menu changes daily and our surprise was cold millet salad with marinated peach for starters, warm millet with green lentil sauce and oven baked apple, and cold coffee. The starter, main and coffee together were 12,50€. Unfortunately, they were out of dessert by then. Millet is something that I used to have as a kid growing up in the Estonian countryside a lot, and it’s not too often that I come across it in a restaurant. Here, it was mixed with herbs, including peppermint, which gave it a zesty character. The „cold coffee“ was not the lukewarm leftover that it may sound like, but a concept of a refreshing drink without the ice that, according to the chef himself, „is not good for the organism“. In any case, it was very nice on a hot September day, and the visit in general left a good feeling.

Pros: fusion food making use of local ingredients, nice atmosphere with a lot of sun and plants, prices

Cons: reaching the location requires an effort, lack of staff — owner did everything himself

Fine dining at a budget

The place is hidden in a building, entering it looks pretty much like a school food hall but dont be fooled. The chef is making amazing food that both looks great and is tasty like a fancy restaurant.

He was super friendly and explained all the dishes, you could really tell he loves to make food.

Both we and the kids loved the food.

The price is much lower than you would think.

Creative menue for a very good price

We arrived one hour before closing and were the only guest in the restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and nice. We ordered parts of the menue and shared. We paid 21 euro (total, for two) including drinks and desert. The concept of the week was a local plant, that was part of the whole menue, even the drinks and the bread. Very creative, matching to the location in an old soviet art studio building. The food was tasty and we would definitely come back.

Wonderful experience

I had a wonderful lunch at Klorofüll, which has shifted from fine dining to a more casual and affordable concept. We shared the entire menu, including an appetizer, soup, main course, dessert, and a sweet pie, all for under €25 for two. The food was extremely tasty, making for a delightful experience.

Pros: Extremely tasty food, Affordable , The owner was really kind

Best vegan restaurant in Tallinn!

The whole evening was absolute fantastic. They have also authentic Estonian food made vegan with lots of thought put into it.
Restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood, very cozy from the inside. The food was fantastic with lots of different options and interesting new tastes. The staff was incredible nice and took a lot of time guiding us through the evening.
For the quality of food the price was very reasonable. Can just recommend for everyone visiting Tallinn!

Please support this up and coming place!

What a great experience at this new vegan restaurant in Tallinn! We felt very well taken care of with the wonderful service, and the food was so fresh and delicious. If I were to be staying longer, I'd go back monthly to try the rotating menu. Prices are very fair.

A must go in Tallinn

Wonderful experience- the service was very good and polite, the food interesting and creative and the wine pairing worked well. One of the best fine dining experiences for us and the price was very affordable. Everyone working there seemed to be very passionate about the food which made the experience even better.

Reserve a table in advance since they might reserve ingredients only according to the amount of the reservations. The restaurant is a little bit outside the city centre but a must go if you're in Tallinn.

More of an experience than just a meal

We had a lovely meal. All local ingredients and plant based. Chef was highly trained and skilled in creating a supurb menu. We were given loads of information about each course and this really added to the meal experience.

Pros: Lovely meal, Local produce, Interaction with chef and his restaurant partner

Possibly becoming a Michelin ⭐️ restaurant

Great atmosphere, excellent service and very detailed food presentation. Some of the food choices were a bit confusing for me, like many different types of food put together on the same plate. One of the dishes was surprisingly spicy, I was ok with that, but some guests should be warned beforehand. I must mention that it took me tremendous effort to patiently wait and cope with super long and very detailed menu and food presentation. But all in all - very pleasant and interesting experience, we will be definitely back for next season menu in December.

Perfect fine dining

Went for a romantic dinner, no specific occasion, we just wanted to dress up a little, have good food and good wine. We were not disappointed. The food is delicious. The menu changes with the seasonal vedge but I encourage you to trust the chef and try as many different foods as possible. We had open sandwich, gimbap, laksa and gnocchi. I have no pictures as we were so submerged into having a fab night out.

A must visit restaurant in Tallinn, the fact that it’s fully vegan is just an amazing benefit! Omnivores will not be disappointed 🫶

So truly nice concept where only 3 people are working for making a vegan cuisine one of a kind and truly magical. I wish there were more people to find this place out and enjoy these delights they are making.

Pros: Daily new dishes, Personal service

Amazing experience

Food made with natural, high quality ingredients only.

The staff is adorable. They explain everything about their food and drinks with passion.

We tested almost everything on the menu and everything was delicious and surpassed expectations.

We only stayed in Tallinn for 1,5 days but spend our 3 meals in this restaurant because we just didn't want to go anywhere else.

If you are on a budget, try to go for lunch. Starter, main, dessert and a drink for 12,5€.

If not, dinner is breathtaking and should be around 40€ for starter, main, dessert and drink.

Pros: Food, Staff , Decoration

Fancy vegan time out

I really liked the place and the food. The quality is amazing and the chef even takes the time to walk you through the culinary experience:

The recipes are traditional but with a nice twist that makes it exciting.

But since it’s quite boutique the menu items run out and we ended up not having quite a few options available. That on top of the menu being generally small makes it even smaller to the point that it might feel frustrating to some people.

Pros: Food quality, Service , Overall experience

Cons: A lot of options missing, The menu seems a bit disjointed

Tasty, healthy and local, all vegan

Really nice hidden gem in Tallinn.
Has one three course menu for lunch for 12,50€. Portions are tasty, healthy and smallish, so you can easily eat the it all and continue your day.
For dinner time it has larger variety of dishes from all around the world. Cooking is simple and surprising.
Winelist is amazing! Well curated exclusive natural wines that cant be find everywhere. I would recommend this place for group of friends to have nice all included dinner.
Note, that the menu wasnt mediteranian as some mentioned here. Would say more homecooking meets southern flavours.

Pros: Taste, Idelogy, Atmosphere

Cons: Quite small dishes, Only one options for a lunch

Great potential, room for growth

This venue, despite its potential, sadly falls short in multiple areas, the most prominent being the menu design. The menu feels disjointed, a confusing blend of international dishes that leans more towards a potluck rather than a well-thought-out fusion. Furthermore, the lack of balance between light and hearty dishes is apparent and a clear opportunity for improvement.

There are 3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 desserts, with each category featuring an Estonian dish. Unfortunately, the execution of these Estonian dishes is lackluster and lacking creativity. A prime example would be the potato mash and cutlet main, which is in dire need of a refreshing component and a visual makeover. The starters echo a similar sentiment, all leaning heavily on the heavier side with a stark absence of anything fresh.

A ray of hope is the Lao 'Jeow.' The flavors here stand out remarkably, however, the proportion of rice to sauce could be better balanced, as there were not enough sides for the generous serving of rice.

The monthly menu change leaves me hoping for improvement next time.

The staff, while well-meaning, could dial back their eagerness a notch. The persistent follow-ups came off more as awkward than genuinely attentive.

All in all, this restaurant possesses a lot of potential, but there is equally a lot of room for growth and improvement.

Lunch menu

Daily chancing lunch set menu. Lunch is the time chef plays and tests flavours and ideas. So our lunch was lovely, but it was little bit on the heavier side this time with potato salad starter, Risotto style main, big cookie to finish. I was missing fresh veggies salad, fresh herbs, since summer maybe little bit lighter desert with berries and fresh flavours from summer.
But I still wanna give 5stars so that you go test this lovely place. I recommend to eat here. Dinner tasting menu is more carefully pre planned. Lovely place with relaxing atmosphere and spa like background music. Great service. I will visit again at dinner time.

Pros: Atmosphere , Service

Don’t miss this if you’re in Tallinn!

A really great restaurant with focus on seasonal dishes, natural wines and a zero waste focus. The food was really delicious with locally foraged ingredients and the wine was excellent.
Super friendly and helpful service. Each dish was explained as they were served and we heard about the ethos of the restaurant.
Every dish was elegantly presented and full of flavour.
A really memorable experience.

Pros: Great food, Fantastic service , Local, seasonal produce

Delicious, cool atmosphere

Delicious food in a cool old-meets-new space. Flavors were varied, layered, and interesting. There are several fermented items if you’re into that (and plenty of non-fermented if you’re not). Interesting wines and a sounds-yummy lime non-alcoholic option we wanted to try but didn’t. This was one of our two favorite meals in Tallinn.

Hidden gem for plant based lovers

What a marvellous discovery! Klorofüll is a dining experience of the highest quality. Everything, from the stylish interior and the glorious terrace to the amazing staff, is perfect. The food is exceptional, bursting with flavours and truly original.
Well worth walking there also to explore a more residential part of town. You will be delighted with what you find when you get there.

Pros: Beautiful food, Kind and engaging staff, Beautiful wine selection
