A good option! - Edit
Ordered off the menu and they substituted tofu in every dish we ordered. Asked for soy sauce to get away from oyster and fish sauce.

It’s not 100% vegan, but literally saved our bacon on vacation. 🤭 - Edit
The lady that took our order was very accommodating.

Not explicitly vegan but best option around - Edit
Khob Khun initially seems very vegan-friendly with all of their veg options (ie., you can sub tofu for the protein in almost any dish). However, when I asked if the Garlic and Pepper wok dish could be made vegan, the cashier confidently said no. I asked why and had to chat with her about the sauces they use, and she seemed confused at first, but we reached the conclusion that they can make my dish with just soy sauce. So, while there isn’t anything explicitly vegan, it’s probably the best bet in town - you just have to be prepared to chat with the cashier and request only soy sauce. The food was great, large portions, and the staff were very friendly.

All sauces have oyster sauce - Edit
To spite the reviews, I heard it straight from the chef’s mouth that all sauces have oyster sauce in them, even their sweet soy sauce for the pad se ew. They were able to just use soy sauce on my meal, but it’s basically noodles, vegetables, and soy sauce, so not very exciting. Still, it’s something for us vegans in a very non vegan friendly city.

Cons: Cannot omit oyster sauce in all sauces, No explicitly vegan options

My light at the end of the tunnel - Edit
When looking at happy cow in Gold Beach only one restaurant showed up so I was very discouraged to find filling and yummy vegan food. Luckily on yelp this Thai place popped up and we immediately went. The staff/owners were extremely lovely and accommodating. The menu was perfect for making substitutions for more vegan-friendly options and the Panang curry with tofu made my night! We only tried the curries (panang and yellow) but they were both delicious and I'm sure everything else on the menu is just as yummy. When walking around the town after locals raved about the food too, so I know we're not alone in the loving of this truck!!
