Vegan plov - got to give it a go - Edit
Similar to other reviews. I got the vegan plov and it was okay, not overly inspiring. Mainly came here out of principle as it was a place to get a vegan plov.

In general the state of vegan places in Tashkent is very, very sad. Same applies to air quality

Meh, not great - Edit
Positive - the menu clearly marks vegetarian and vegan options, there's vegan plov. The restaurant is quite nicely decorated and they accept cards.
Read moreNegative - the only vegan option is plov and it's pretty tasteless, and the restaurant is pricey for Uzbek standards.

Mixed feelings - Edit
I ordered the vegetable plov and lobio, ensuring with the waitress that they are vegan.
Read moreI was offered complimentary (egg washed) bread and yogurt after ordering which i had to send back. They replaced it with a vegan bread.
The plov seemed clean but I found a piece of (horse?) meat in my beans, i sent it back and they made me a fresh one, which took some time and they forgot to replace the rest of the food on the plate they took away from me which took even more time.
The manager apologized and offered me a drink and bowl of fruit and removed most of the items from my bill, which was pretty nice of them.

Upscale vegan Uzbek food - Edit
Beautiful restaurant inside Hyatt Regency. Offers vegan Plov (says vegetarian on the menu but multiple staff confirmed it is vegan) and vegetable kebab/sashlik. Prices are 50,000-70,000 som for most dishes.
Read moreRecommend a visit for some genuinely vegan plov which is hard to find. Traveling around Uzbekistan you realize that asking for vegetarian Plov usually means they pick out the meat and serve you the regular plov cooked with meat and in animal fat - gross!🤦♂️
Pros: Beautiful interior , All taxis know Hyatt so easy to find

Great food and nice atmosphere! - Edit
Tashkent is such a clean and cool city and the Hyatt and this restaurant are just that with an added element of luxury. The food is really nice, both the plov and the kebab.
