Serves meat, vegan options available. Will accommodate vegetarians and vegans upon request. Try Masaman tofu curry and ginger tea. Open Mon-Sun 4:30pm-9:00pm, Tue-Sat 11:00am-3:00pm.
Bland green curry and massaman even with a 6/10 spice level. Small portion, expensive take out. Save your money and eat elsewhere.
Edit: it’s the use of frozen veg in the curry which really puts me off
Poor quality, bland and expensive.
Lots of vegan options to choose from that are labeled, very crave-able their pad-thai is the boom! Can't say I've had anything other than a few bits of their coconut rice, holy molly best ever! I've been close to a dozen times and each time I enjoy the pad-thai :))
I am pleased to say that I've never had a scary meat slip into my meals here, and I love their food. The green curry is very yummy and full of vegetables. Great spring rolls. The tom yum soup is also excellent.
Tasty and Authentic Thai Food in Saskatoon! - Edit
I ate dinner at Keo's Kitchen in June 2016, during a short visit to Saskatoon.
Keo's is a casual restaurant that serves a wide variety of traditional Thai and Asian dishes. The interior was spacious and had simple decor.
I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and it tasted so delicious, flavourful and authentic. I was offered the choice of how spicy I would like to my meal to be, ranging from 1 to 10 (with 10 being insanely spicy). I chose number 2 and although it left a slight burning sensation in my mouth after I had finished eating, I was pleased with my choice and it was the perfect level of spiciness for me. The portion size of my meal was very generous and the service was friendly and prompt.
Because the majority of the dishes were made from rice noodles, most items on the menu were gluten-free which was great for a Celiac like myself. Many of the dishes also had the option of making them vegetarian, by substituting tofu for meat.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Keo's Kitchen and am looking forward to eating here again the next time I find myself in Saskatoon! I would highly recommend it to those who love Thai food.
Great flavours, but have had mixed experiences - Edit
I used to love Keo's! As vegans, my partner and I enjoyed their curries, pad thai and coconut soup quite often. However, we began to find meat in our food on a semi-regular basis (enough to scare us off for quite some time!). I've recently been back twice, both times with a meat-free meal. Perhaps they've taken the issue to heart and have made some changes! The manager is a very kind lady who truly cares about her business, so I imagine these mistakes were frustrating for her.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to vegans or vegetarians. I cannot count how many times I have found meat in my "vegan" food at Keo's. I figure they cook everything together with the meat, and do not clean the pans between dishes. If you are looking for pure vegan food in Saskatoon try Odd Couple.
vegan, vegetarian options on large portion of menu - Edit
I personally like the Keo's on broadway better than the second location on 2nd ave. This restaurant can make almost anything on their menu vegan at your request. Not only do they omit non-vegan ingredients, they usually have some sort of improvisation to replace it with. Many people recommend the masaman curry... I find it much too sweet, especially with the coconut rice. My favourites are the red curry with tofu, green curry with tofu, steamed rice, pad thai, garlic and crushed black pepper stir fry with tofu (ask for extra black pepper), black bean and holy basil stiry fry with tofu and the lotus flower cookies at the cash register. I have yet to try the two veg soup options (tom yum and tom kha kai). I'm sure they're delicious. This restaurant is a bit fancy but you could get away with going casual there. The location on 2nd ave does have a nice yellow curry with tofu that is not on the menu at the broadway location. Can be noisy when it's busy as it's one big area with no secluded areas. They also do not accept reservations on saturday nights last I checked.
