Meh. - Edit
This place is not anymore what it use to be if i see the photos. The vegan/vegetarian menu is very reduce. It's not corresponding on the photos posted here. There is 6 or 7 dishes as hummus, falafel or stuffed vegetables. They do gyros with mushrooms, it's ok but not amazing and i think it's a little expencive due to other restaurants you can find in rethymnon.

Zero stars- gross and bland - Edit
I would like to give it zero stars! At most one star for the fact that they offer vegan food at all. I've rarely eaten such bland, uninspired food. It seems as if the chef has absolutely no idea how to prepare dishes tastefully. An absolute food scam. The pictures on the menu in no way match the food served. For example, the stuffed eggplant is only smeared with tomato paste. Spices are unknown to the restaurant. The vegetables we ordered were absolutely overcooked and mashed. There are no nutrients left in them. Simply disgusting on the plate. The smoothies all tasted like water. That's almost impossible, but this so-called restaurant manages it. 90% water from which they make disgusting water and charge 6€ for it. Let's not even talk about the toilets. Worst experience in a really long time. Excessive prices for the garbage you get. I cook better at 3 a.m. after a party, completely exhausted. Pure tourist trap.

Lovely service - food a bit bland - Edit
Went here based on other reviews, they do have a small vegan menu which obviously is great. What I had was quite bland if I’m honest. The place is also quite dated too. The owner however was absolutely lovely as was their service. Not sure I would rush back here though.

I love Stavros - Edit
The restaurant has a page in the menu just for vegans and one for vegetarians, food is nice enough, however you got to love the owner of the place. The man has a typical Greek charm, super friendly and welcoming, the type of person that would do his best to accommodate you.

Welcoming place - Edit
Crete is not short of friendly places where you can spend the evening chatting to the owner about life and enjoy your evening watching people passing on the street. This place is definitely worth adding to your list of tavernas to eat at. The owner is super friendly, speaks many languages and is happy to accommodate vegans. We had stuffed wine leaves to start with and two vegan mains, both decent and rather large. The menu is large and you can have both baked and fried options. Definitely would go back if I stayed in Rethymno longer. Food was tastier than in the only fully vegan restaurant in town.

Great place for evening meal - Edit
Very friendly host offered us a more romantic table with electric candle. There were separate vegetarian and vegan pages in the menu. I took vegetarian plate with mix of several other dishes and each of them worth a separate dinner. Will come here again.

Yummie - Edit
Visited this restaurant with my boyfriend and our son a few days ago. My son (14 months old) was very tired and started to cry not long after we sat down so we had to rush the dinner. The staff was very understanding and caring. I had a dish called grilled vegetables and hummus and I really recommend it.

deserves 5 stars - Edit
A lot of vegetarian and vegan options - for starters and main dishes. I ordered a vegetarian combo mixed platter with a lot of different typically Greek vegetarian dishes and it was SO good! It was seasoned lightly but very delicious. Everything seemed labeled correctly and he knows the terms vegan and vegetarian.

Nice greek cousine - Edit
Small restaurant with several vegan and several vegetarian options. I had a soup for starters - this was nothing special. For the main course I had the giant white beans which were totally delicious! No room for dessert.

Amazing - Edit
Me and my family went here on holiday and went back again because it was so good! Definitely one of the best restaurants for vegans in this area. They knew exactly what Vegan meant and he confirmed that the giant white beans were vegan and they were delicious!! At the end they brought out free desserts for us all but they were not vegan, and once he realised he offered me a fruit salad or some dairy free strawberry ice cream! It looked as if there were many other vegan option on the menu and I definitely recommend!

Taverna with several vegetarian dishes - Edit
In the tourist areas along the coast from Rethymnon, this taverna stood out because of its variety of vegetarian dishes. Most places are heavy on the meat and fish, although there are usually one or two naturally vegetarian dishes (often a Greek salad and perhaps something like zucchini balls), but this place had a whole vegetarian section in its menu. The food was good and not too expensive. If you're staying in this area Kellari is a better bet than most of the others along the main road - we walked up and down quite a way from our hotel in both directions checking out lots of different menus and this one was the winner for variety.
