Variety of options! - Edit
So many fun options. Highly recommend stopping if you are in the area. It’s self serve, with tongs, and (as others have stated) very clearly marked.

Great vegan options - Edit
The other reviews cover it pretty well, but the vegan options here are clearly labeled (they are all a different color from the omni options), run the gamut of Cantonese cuisine, and are all delicious. Highly recommended.

Arrive early - Edit
They tend to run out of their vegan options so make a point of going there early. Call ahead to make sure they have items available that day.

Cheap & unique - Edit
Affordable and unique: I’ve never been anywhere with this volume of Chinese steamed buns, this well labeled for vegan items. Savory options I tried included a mapo bun, kimchi bun, bbq tofu bun, and gluten free mung bean bun. All excellent, including the gluten free item which was toothsome in its own right rather than being a sandy alternative. I would not recommend the “coconut cream” sweet bun that I believe is heavily dependent on whipped vegetable oil for its “cream” and was frankly a bit off putting.

Sooo gooood!! - Edit
There are a good number of vegan options in the bakery and they are all labeled clearly.. there are 4 vegan buns, and 2 of them are also GF. There are a number of vegan pastries including red bean sesame balls! Yumm! I had the tofu kimchi bun and a delicious, sweet, red bean cookie pastry. Looks like there are also some delicious entree options like fried rice and lo mein.

Authentic and more vegan than ever! - Edit
The daughter of the original owners took it over and made it super vegan! There's nearly a dozen different vegan pastry/bun options at the front counter, all reasonable priced ($2-4). I've used to live in Guangdong and have visited Hong Kong many times; the pastries at Keefer Court taste just like I remember the ones there tasting.
Read moreI've tried the vegan chocolate buttercream cone pastry, the bbq tofu steam bun, the lotus cake, the red bean sesame balls, and the sticky coconut things. They're all solid, but the red bean sesame balls are my personal favorite.
I haven't been to the restaurant section since they reopened. There's a lot more vegan upon request items than there was on their old menu. I hope to go in the next few weeks and try it out.
Pros: Authentic , Good value, Lots of options (although they sometimes run out)
Cons: cash/check only

Vegan Cantonese - Edit
Steamed buns with savory fillings that remind me of childhood visits to Chinatown. How I loved those buns! Now I can have them again because Keefer Court does vegan. When ordering vegan entrees be sure to keep specifying vegan preferences when asked about egg rolls and rice options. I give it 4 stars for their tremendous effort and interest in offering vegan options.

My new favorite spot! - Edit
Keefer Court is quickly adding more and more vegan options to their menu. The baked goods are marked with a pink tag and "vegan" on them, and my favorite is the red sesame ball. I don't know how they get some of the pastries as flaky as they do, but they're perfection. The service is friendly and welcoming. Make sure you have cash as they do not take credit cards.
