Good, not great - Edit
I ordered a tofu burrito and it was not that great. Reminded me of something I would get prewrapped from the grocery store. They offered vegan mozzarella but there is an upcharge to get it (I was not told about the upcharge while ordering). The tofu was also not cooked very well, seemed fresh out of the package in texture and appearance. They had lots of vegan options though that’s why it gets 3 stars and not 2. Given the quality the food is expensive. If I were in town again I would not return.

Tasty Vegan Options - Edit
We enjoyed Kayak Kafe. There were a lot of options although not most were not marked on the menu. You have to ask for vegan substitutes. We had a quack and pita appetizer, tofu and veggie quesadilla, and grilled veggie panini. The quac was very flavorful, quesadilla on point, and the panini was lovely. Also we enjoyed their mojito and margarita with a little GA peach purée added in.

Delicious! - Edit
Many vegan options and friendly/fast service. Vegan dishes are clearly labeled, which is always nice. Shared the tater tot nachos and they were amazing. I had the special, which was a seitan shawarma and salad greens. My husband had the walnut chorizo tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious!

So tasteful and a variety of options - Edit
I had the harvest lentil burger (a special) and it was so tasteful! They had so many options! I went with some non-vegan friends so this was perfect because it still had the options for them. Even so one of my friends tried the harvest lentil burger too and loved it! Trying to convert him one step at a time!! Also the vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was amazing!!

GREAT VEGAN FOOD! So many options - Edit
I loved this place so much! It is not fully vegan (boo!) but there are MANY vegan options! For some reason though there are like 2 menus. Make sure to check the tiny clipboard that are on the tables as well as the long menu that is given to you because I actually found more vegan options on the clipboard thing. I had the Vegan Taco Bowl which had quinoa and walnut chorizo and it was absolutely fantastic.
Read moreMy server was really really great as well. His name is Damon! I actually ordered a different entree and went up like 5 minutes later to change my order and he was very accommodating! Such a nice server.
Only downside is the price of the menu items. The taco bowl is $13 and the portion is pretty small. I usually don't eat much and I take my leftovers home, but there wasn't enough to have leftovers. So that was disappointing.
Pros: great food, great service
Cons: pricey

lots of vegan options - Edit
Was looking for something open past 10 pm on a Friday and came across Kayak Kafe. Their specials were mostly vegan. We got the vegan gyro, crab-less crab cakes and jackfruit tacos. Everything was very flavorful. The staff was extremely nice and I like they they are an environmentally conscious restaurant. Will definitely come back when back in Savannah.

great vegan options - Edit
We often go to the one in midtown and they do have a vegan chef! Lately there have been at least 1-4 vegan options in the menu. We really like all of them, to include the tater tot nachos, walnut tacos, and the crab less cake sandwich. They are also really great about working with you to make most of the menu options completely vegan. Any time we have been there, the employees has been able to express exactly what is in each dish. My go to is the black bean spinach mushroom tacos with hummus instead of cheese on corn tortillas. I would give it five stars if I was allowed!!!!!
Read moreOne warning!!! As far as I know, the black eyed pea burger is bound with eggs so it is not vegan (I would just ask though because they could have changed the recipe at any point)

great for vegan and non-vegan - Edit
Choices are available for vegans. The black eyed pea burger was scrumptious and not like most bean burgers which are based in rice. Salad with homemade hummus with tofu option was very good as well. We’d definitely go again for the bean burger and salad.

Love the customization! - Edit
Large servings and a relatively inexpensive price make Kayak Kafe a great option for vegetarians, vegans, and meet eaters alike in the beautiful city of Savannah! They are willing to customize almost any menu item to make it vegetarian/vegan with the substitution of tofu. Definitely recommend the tacos!

great choices - Edit
A lot of vegan/vegetarian choices here and the staff were knowledgable, offering information on what was vegan and what wasn't even when not prompted. I had the tofu tacos and they were amazing. Awesome corn flour tortillas and delicious, fresh ingredients. There are a lot of GF options here as well. Any sandwich or wrap can be made Gluten Free.

Lots of great menu choices - Edit
I love this restaurant! I've had tofu tacos, which are so flavorful. My favorite choice is the vegetarian salad. It's HUGE and all of the vegetables are so fresh. The hummus is amazing and the house salad dressing is the best I've ever had. The other go to choice is the superfood salad. You can't go wrong with this restaurant!

One of my favorites! - Edit
Kayak strives to use all organic ingredients, and the atmosphere is modern and pleasant. I usually order the Mexican Chicken Salad minus the chicken and dairy and add tofu. The salads are LARGE and wonderful! They recently added a vegan black bean burger to the menu. Thick tomato soup, guacamole...oh my gosh, I LOVE that place!

Lovely pet friendly place with good food - Edit
I ordered the tofu tacos and loved them. I just think that $11 is somewhat more than necessary; they are tacos after all. I really liked the fact that they also offered beer which I thought was surprising for a place like this. And it should be mentioned that the staff was lovely.

Great find in Savannah - Edit
Great food, service, and options. The menu stated the kitchen would make anything vegan, so right off the bat, I felt at home. I had the Tofu and Veggie Quesadilla and my aspirational-vegan spouse had the Wild GA Shrimp and Avocado Quesadilla. Both were hot, tasty and were ready in no time. We were there late in the afternoon and the place was still crowded. Great option for groups with varying eating styles.

Yummy! Organic ingredients, raw and vegan options. - Edit
Just ate here today! Was great. I'm raw vegan mostly, so I appreciated the variety of salads. The rest of my family is mostly vegan, there was plenty to choose from. I liked the decor, very cool... atmosphere is important. Good service. Food was really good! My whole family was very happy. Great salads and guacamole, made fresh to order. They did a customized meal for my toddler, upon request. My husband, who is usually vegan will eat fish at times, and said the grilled tilapia taco were amazing. LOVED it! If we can't find anywhere else to go tomorrow, we'll eat here again!

fresh, healthy option in a veg-unfriendly town - Edit
I was relieved to find this place as food in Savannah is expensive and there seems to be no real vegetarian food in town and only one health food store. The prices are reasonable at Kayak and I ordered a vegetarian salad, which was large and so fresh and carefully prepared that I was in heaven. There aren't a ton of vegetarian choices, but there are a few and staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. Everything about the experience was very relaxed and positive and the location is right in the center of downtown on the main shopping street. The website doesn't have all the menu options and didn't say that dinner is offered, as this is recent, but we heard it mentioned and got lucky by stopping by to check out the place.
