The owner cares about vegans - Edit
This is a great choice when eating with omnis. They have a vegetarian menu with vegan options listed. Not a huge selection but enough. When I asked about modifying a dish, the server wanted to check. A few minutes later, the owner/chef came out and suggested something different. He said that he'd cook it personally, and he later checked to see if it was OK. And, this was in a night when they were slammed with a huge party. Everything was very good. We ran into the chef the following day, and he remembered us. He recommended a different dish for our next visit. His concern for accommodating vegans was obvious and appreciated.

Delicious! Wonderful service! - Edit
Ordered the Island Roots, very good! We came here for my sister’s bachelorette and the owner was so sweet, let her drink for free! Highly recommend because it’s one of the more quality vegan options I’ve had on our trip.

Their grilled tofu is the bomb. I had the Asian Cajun dish but like other reviewers said it's probably awesome in the tacos! Paired with a cold red stripe. Mmmmmm!

Amazing Find! A Key West Must Go. - Edit
Started with the wonton appetizer which was excellent. Then had No worries coconut curry rice bowl (great), Island Roots (light, tons of vegetables and delicious), Asian/Cajan Tofu (very Tasty). All portions were large and the service was excellent! We even were entertained by a mentalist “Doc Mental”who was Unbelievably good and super kind. This place is a MUST when visiting Key West.

Delicious food with an island flair - Edit
Great Key West restaurant for vegan food with multiple vegan options on the menu and others that can be modified. We had the coconut curry rice bowl with tofu and veggies, Asian/Cajun tofu, and the veggie wontons. The owner and staff were very nice and accommodating. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The location is great - situated on Duval street. Visited in September 2023.

Excellent Vegan Eats, Fun Atmosphere - Edit
Delicious vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. We entered from a side street and we were amazed that there were so many different areas to sit. We chose a sweet spot outdoors facing a stage and an excellent singer/guitar player entertained us throughout our yummy meal. The Rasta Pasta with portobello was delicious and huge! Wonton appetizer was spot on. Can’t remember which vegan dish my husband ordered, but he ate it all and loved it.

It's a beautiul place with good vegan options. For me it was the most delicious food in Key West. The Veggie Warrior Won Tons Appetizer are soooo good. As main dish I tried the Island Roots which was also super tasty.

Special food with caribian saesoning - Edit
Very lovely Restaurant with nice staff and a great variety of food with lots of vegetarian and vegan options that are clearly marked. The staff knows about vegan diet, so a lot of dishes can ne veganized. The saesoning was very special and for me quite spicy, but very delicious. Portions were big, but you can take home any left overs. I can totally recommend this place :)

Yummy food; multiple seating options - Edit
Kaya seems to be great for any vibe with three seating areas. The hostess was very nice and showed us our options so we could choose the spot we liked. We got cauliflower bites (an appetizer special), coconut curry with vegetables (I added tofu), and Asian/Cajun Tofu. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent!

Super good - Edit
They said the Rasta Pasta is good, but wow was it good. My husband and I split it (we added veggies and subtracted the cheese) and we couldn’t finish it between the two of us. It was wonderful. Also got the wontons which were also good but the carrots on the side of the wontons were what I liked (my husband thinks I’m crazy).

A special destination with multiple vegan options! - Edit
Kaya has an amazing happy hour, delicious food, and relaxing tropical vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating options.🌴 As other reviewers mentioned, the owner Scott is on site most of the time. He is very generous to the community nonprofits letting them use the space for fundraisers and also does his own including helping the Hawaii Community Foundation's Maui Strong Fund. There are many vegetarian options and a few vegan items, and the staff is very willing to customize menu offerings (such as substitute tofu for chicken).

Good veg options - Edit
I had the Cajun tofu steak and it was tasty- had to ask for it to be vegan as is typically made vegetarian with butter in the sauce. It was spicy and unique with the pickled onions and carrots. Was a tiny bit too spicy but still ate and enjoyed it.

A hidden gem - Edit
Someone mentioned this place on Facebook and I’m SO glad they did! A glance inside showed a dark bar, which I wouldn’t have ventured into. But out back there is an outdoor section and it is fabulous, Keys-y, fun, and the people are just delightful. We loved our waitress and the owner and everyone else we came across.

I ate here twice during my three-day trip. I loved that they had decent vegan options that weren’t just salads or veggie sides. Had the cajun tofu and the curry rice bowl. Both were tasty and fairly priced. If you come between 4 and 6 they have happy hour deals where all apps and certain drinks are half priced.

Interesting flavors - Edit
We enjoyed our meals (veggie Rasta pasta Cajun tofu & warrior wontons). The atmosphere is nice (great music & good service). Prices for reasonable (for Key West) and the portions are large (we could have shared a meal). Everything was very rich and had interesting flavors. Clearly marked vegan & veg dishes on the triangle table menu.
