The owner is an absolute amazing person! Loved him. You have to stop her and eat some patacones or cachapas. They are delicious!

Would give it 5* if I could - Edit
The app won’t let me give this place 5 stars because it’s not fully veg, but I think it deserves it. Almost all of the menu has a vegetarian option. The owner is a very fun and friendly person who really cares about the food he serves.

Delicious Venezuelan food - Edit
I came here in 2019 and again this week - always delicious and lots of vegan options. Had the arepa with avocado, beans, plantain and tofu, and ordered a small portion of the La Verde salad. Also super good.

Great dining option in CDC - Edit
This place has a totally different vibe compared to the rest of the city; enjoyed vegetarian arepa chevere, then ordered the cachapa one; both were delicious; loved the Guanabana maracuja juice; at this Venezuelan restaurant i’ve had one of the best edible experiences in Mexico!

Awesome - Edit
Such good food. Owner is super friendly, he clearly loves life and making people happy with their food. He explained all the vegan options available. The veggie plate is flavorful and very filling, enough for 2 meals. He also let me sample a bunch of juices and aguas before I chose which one I wanted. Definitely support these folks!

Worth supporting while in Playa! - Edit
It was my first time trying venezuelan food. We got the "corn pancakes" (I can't remember the Spanish name). Mine came filled with black beans, avocado, tofu, and cooked plantains. The corn pancakes have a little sweetness to them, as well as, the plantains, the rest of the pancake was hearty so I found it to be an interesting combo of flavors that I would try again!
Read moreWe went to try it because of all the great reviews and they were absolutely true. The owner was a happy, entertaining man that was so excited to practice his English (though it was great) and he talked about the "queen of the kitchen, and the queen of his heart"- his wife, who cooks the food and it all tasted very fresh!
They gave us a free flight of juices to try and went above and beyond which you don't see much in restaurants these days. we were so glad to have supported their family and restaurant while in Playa! The experience was worth it!
** The restaurant says cash only but when we mentioned we didn't have enough pesos left for a drink he said he could do a credit card transaction. He mentioned the machine is really spotty but at the time we were there it was working. So if you need to use a card, don't hesitate to ask just in case!
Pros: Handful of vegan options , Gluten free options

The onwer is a super friendly guy, very welcoming, open and talkative. He introduced us to everything he had on his menu and was very thoughtful when we asked for vegan options. They have quite a few and anything can be served vegan.

Super friendly and helpful - Edit
The folks here are some of the friendliest people we've met in Mexico. I'd recommend it just off that alone, but it also helps that Ramon was took the time to go through their extensive menu and explain how he could alter ingredients to suit our needs. Lots could be made vegan no problem, usually just substituting tofu for cheese. It was a very satisfying lunch and I only regret waiting until our last day to try it!

delicious venezuelian cuisine - Edit
all the „vegan“ dishes normally come with cheese. When you order it without cheese, they offer you tofu. I had the mixed plate with rice and it was very good. You also get a selection of drinks and dips to try, but attention: the drink with cinnamon and the green dip are not vegan.

Wow! Just wow!!! The best food in all of Mexico we had at this amazing restaurant. The host and staff are super friendly and it feels like you’re in their living room. They have amazing juices and also al lot of vegan and vegetarian options for a very good price. Don’t hesitate, just go and visit. You will not be disappointed. Oh and also their flan is to die for.

AMAZING!! - Edit
As others have mentioned, I wish I could give this 5 stars as it was that good! The woman working was incredibly knowledgeable on both Vegan and Gluten Free. I ordered the traditional plate (vegan option) and a vegan stuffed arepa to-go. I was also given a trio sampling of juices and ordered the Venezuelan lemonade. YUM! I’m so glad I went!!

Vegan friendly, delicious, & good service! - Edit
Would give this place 5 stars if I could! There were several vegan options- I tried the empanadas, arepas, and the vegetarian plate with black beans, plantains, veggies, tofu, rice, and bread. Everything was super flavorful and well seasoned. My favorite was the vegan empanada (which was huge) but everything was good!! They also offered me samples of the different juices they had and the sugarcane lemonade was so good and unique. Our waitress both times we went was super sweet, attentive, and accommodating. Not super cheap but not expensive either in my opinion. Definitely check this place out!!

Different vegan options available. I really enjoyed the flavouring of the vegetables (the tofu that was mixed in tastes rather plain) on the corn-pancake.

Kaxapas are delicious! - Edit
Tried to give 5 stars, but can't because happy cow doesn't allow (it's not a fully vegetarian restaurant). Had an arepa chevre (beans, plantain, avo, Oaxaca cheese) and a vegan Kaxapas with tofu and mixed veggies, both were amazing. Owner is super nice, gave me free samples of 4 of their very tasty drinks.

Must eat here - Edit
Loved this place so much. They had veg/vegan varieties of everything. Had the kaxapa and the paballan for the mains, baby arepas as starters, and sugarcane lemonade to drink. The staff there explained the menu to us before we ordered. The restaurant itself is a beautiful cozy little place.

NOT vegan friendly - Edit
This place is vegetarian friendly but not vegan friendly. Fed me Arepa that was soaked in butter. And when i told them it was not vegan they didn’t really seem to care. Then at the check they tried giving us candies with milk. Do not trust this place.

Really Bland - Edit
We were so excited to go here and were sooo disappointed!!! All the food I got was really bland, no spices not even salt! The veggies were just plain awful. According to my friend the meat she had in her dishes was over seasoned so I think they try to create a balance by then not seasoning the veggies which would work in theory but not if you’re vegan and you only get veggies & beans in your dishes.
