Fantastic food, beautiful host, changing menu. - Edit
Absolutely beautiful. Make sure you book/even just call ahead from town if it's a last minute drop in like we did, as it is a B&B with a restaurant for lunch/dinner, open to the public by reservations. Definitely worth the phone call as they may be around.
Read moreEver changing daily set menu depending on what's in season and what's in the garden. Home cooked 3 course meal for €25 by the beautiful owner is perfect. Delicious flavours and you never know what's on the menu.
The B&B looked beautiful and we would have stayed if we weren't just travelling through. I think there are some walks up the top of the hill that would definitely be worth while to stay for one or a few nights.
Thank you so much! An absolutely beautiful experience!
Pros: Changing menu, beautiful host, delicious food.
Cons: Not always open to the public. Is understandable.

Only proper vegan food available in most of the Austrian/Italian alps - Edit
I’ve been travelling around the Austrian/Italian alps with my family for a couple of weeks now and I have found myself eating plain pasta with tomato sauce or pizza with only tomato sauce and oil for basically 9/10 of my meals - as a consequence of not getting my nutrients I’ve been lacking energy and feeling super low which has really taken a toll on my body. Thankfully I came across this lovely little place up in the mountains with the most AMAZING food!! She makes a set menu everyday based on the food she has available in her garden and makes everything from scratch it’s absolutely amazing and the lady who runs the place is the kindest and most lovely person. I highly recommend, its set in a stunning location with breathtaking views.

My vege daughter found this place while on our trip to Austrian Alps. I really enjoyed the food especially the lupine gnocchi. Definitely recommend. White beer was also very good!

Great Vegan Food - Edit
Very welcoming host! Me and me mom found this place online and decided to try it out. I recommend using a gps to get there as the location of this place isn't very public. The food was amazing and all vegan. Our meal was very thoughtful and tasted fresh so I definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area. Worth a drive and worth a try!

Amazing!!! - Edit
This is a must if you are visiting Lienz or areas nearby. Katarina is a very warm and welcoming host who is passionate about sustainable food. The meal is "set," having been determined by Katarina based on what is in her garden. The ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant - I was expecting something rustic and woodsy but the tables were set with white linens, nice glassware, etc. The kitchen is professional and as far as I could tell, high end. The views are breathtaking - her place is the highest building on the mountain. On arriving, we were offered a delicious kombucha drink - mine was alcohol free, while my boyfriend opted for one with a bit of alcohol. Dinner started with an amuse bouche with snap peas and a citrus-based sauce, followed by a beautiful leafy green salad with tiny purple flowers. The main course was a gnocchi-like dish with carrots, zucchini, and a few vegetables we're still trying to figure out, plus a peanut sauce. My boyfriend (like most French) does not like peanut butter, but I love it, so this was a great combination for me. What struck us was how flavorful the vegetables were. The dessert was incredible - a mousse made from wild rose and a rice milk base. The rose flavor was incredibly intense - we had never experienced anything like it. Our meal came to about 57 euros for two people. Wine and beer are available, although we did not indulge this time. In all, we had a very memorable meal and will return next time we visit Lienz.

Cons: The location is a little tricky to find., The location is Selsberg-Stronach, not Lienz!
