Good casual dining.

Nice Asian fusion food and pleasant eating outdoors on a warm evening. I had the Aubergine Sambal and my partner had the Tofu Sambal. The tofu was slightly spicier but still not hot by the usual standard. Large portion of brown rice, which we only managed half of. We tried Greek wines for a change- definitely different! Went for a walk in the nearby Assistens Cemetery afterwards, which I thoroughly recommend- beautiful!

Pros: Super lovely staff , Good Sambal

Cozy but room for improvement

Cozy place with wholesome food, many vegan options, and reasonable prices. But: The acoustics were quite bad, some dishes felt a bit unbalanced, and important details like spicyness weren't accurately described by the staff.

Nice experience

Nice and cozy place with a great atmosphere and outdoor seating in the summer.
Unfortunately some of the dishes were not available. But they had a vegan section on the menu cart. Very good!
Food was tasty and reasonable prices. Would definitely go there again.

Cute place with reasonably priced yummy food

Kate’s joint has a separate list of vegan and vegetarian options which are relatively inexpensive for København. Also came to this cute and aesthetic restaurant for happy hour where I could get 2 generous glasses of wine for 110kr.

Long living eatery

Kate's Joint was actually one of my first vegan food experience (together with the now closed "Den Grønne Kælder"), besides from falafel in durum. I was there with some co-voulenteers in "Anima" back in 2006. Back then I was a fan, and I am still a fan of Kates Joint.
They offers several dishes of vegan food, which are labeled. I think I have tried all the dishes, I love them all, but "Malay style veg curry with tofu" are my favourite.
There are two downsides in my opition. They don't have vegan desserts, which I can live with. But the biggest downside is their bad seating. They don't have regular chairs, but offers you stool. Which is quite uncomfortable in my opinion. You can sit on a bench up to the wall however.
But my final verdict is a huge recommendation for Kate's Joint, which is one of the best non-vegan restaurants in Copenhagen.

Very nice and cozy restaurant with delicious food

I have eaten here many times both takeout and at the restaurant. I love the Daal and the dish with eggplant. Really cosy to eat at the restaurant but remember to book a table in advance (small and popular place)

Pros: Vegan options , Sweet staff , Good prices

Only the starter was good

I had high expectations with this restaurant but unfortunately it didn’t live up to them. I can only recommend the starter dish (shared in photos). I tried to order kombucha, coconut water or lemonade but ended up drinking tap water as they didn’t have any of the other drinks. The main dish -I got a dish with sweet potato and beans- was a bit spicy but uninteresting. If you decide to give this place a try could be a good idea to book a table - its very small.
I don’t think I will come back.

Pros: Awesome dips, Kind of cozy

Cons: Lot of non available items in the menu, Boring main dishes , Felt like eating plain white rice at times

OK - but better options around the area

Our waiter didn't speak Danish, and poor English as well. I asked him about the vegetarian menu and he confirmed that all the dishes were vegan, which I see is what the previous submitter wasn't told. I wonder if what he ended up suggesting (cous cous with a bunch of veggies in a sauce - very bland) was even vegan. Needless to say I won't be returning.

I ended up going again in spite of what I thought. Mixed info from waiters regarding if the vegetarian options - one said that everything was vegan, another said it could be MADE vegan. Both our servers, spoke English well. Unfortunately it didn't seem like staff is very well educated in what veganism means, but as long as you explain that it's vegetarian with no dairy products, you should be fine.

The server said he wouldn't recommend any of the vegetarian dishes, which was a bit of a weird thing to say, but we went with it anyway. We had one chickpea stew, that was bland, and I think I could honestly have made it better myself. The daal however, surprisingly good with a very nice chutney to mix with. Would definitely come back for the daal, so good that I have it a new try.

Pros: Excellent daal, Friendly staff, Good for a date

Cons: Lots of sold-out options, May get loud

Non traditional, interesting yet boring Indian food

Kate's Joint is a modern contemporary Indian restaurant. It's located on a nice and cozy street only a couple minutes away from Copenhagen center.

Has a vegetarian menu although vegan food was not marked. Our waiter didn't know what was vegan but he asked the chef and it turned out two dishes were vegan. I had the Satay (vegetables and tofu with peanut sauce) and it was good but a bit bland and could have used more sauce.

The food was not what I would call traditional Indian food which in one way is kind of interesting but at the same time a bit tasteless and boring.

Overall a nice, cozy place with good, but not amazing food.

Pros: Friendly staff, cozy, cool, different

Cons: Not a great variety of food for vegans, a bit tasteless

Kates Joint - To Go There You Should Make a Point

Have just noticed that we were eating here on the same date as the previous posting! And completely agree with the previous reviewers comments (though didn't try a juice). Whilst the food isn't amazing, our overall experience was great and we really liked the place. Only a few minutes walk from the metro station, the restaurant is on a nice mainly pedestrianised street in what seemed like a cool area. Definitely appreciated and recommended.

Pros: Overall atmosphere, Clear menu, Good Value

Cons: Average Food (wish could say otherwise)

Inexpensive (for Copenhagen) good Indian food

Reasonably priced very good (not excellent) Indian food in a really cool atmosphere and friendly service. Clearly marked vegan items. I got the chana, which was yummy but not fantastic.

Pros: good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Cons: bad guava juice
