Fun potato house with good food - Edit
ÄThis place is really popular. First time we've been there, we had to make a reservation for the next day. They were fully booked.

The next day....
We love potatoes, thus it was a no-brainer that we had to go to the potato house. Especially because of their famous "Thüringer Klöße" (Potatodumplings). Sadly , they don't have a vegan dumpling option, only a vegetarian one.
I had the Beyond meat sausage with the fried potatoes. Even though the salad had no dressing and the grilled veggies consisted out of a Mexico mix ("TK Mexicogemüse") the potatoes were delicious, and the sausage was good as well.
It's a great place to go with your omni friends, and you'll get a 2€ voucher for your next visit. We're thinking about going there again and ordering the potato pizza.

Ein herrlich uriges Lokal. Das Essen war Spitzenklasse und das Personal war super drauf. Auf der Karte gibt es eine vernünftige Auswahl an veganen Speisen und Desserts. Man sollte aber vorher reservieren, da es anscheinend immer gut besucht ist. Ich hatte glücklicher Weise noch einen Platz ergattern können.

Beautiful location with great options - Edit
The interior decorations are quirky and atmospheric, the options on the menu include many traditional dishes and several Beyond Meat sausages, and burgers etc.
Read moreI tried the chilli potato and wasn't too hot for it. The chilli is not like chilli sin carne but more like a sweet chilli Chinese sauce, maybe just not what I expected.

Dogs allowed and kids friendly. Children have a lot to see. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is very tasty and plan fair. Very tasty typical "Thüringer Klösse" (Thuringia potatoe dumplings) in several variations.

Man sitzt an blanken Tischen, die Getränkekarte auf einer Flasche, die Speisekarte im Ständer. Die Bedienungen war sehr höflich und haben gute Stimmung gemacht. Da Essen war ausgesprochen lecker.

Vegan section on menu with good bar food! - Edit
They have a menu in English and an entire vegan section for me (and great other bar food options for my omni husband)! Good "dive bar" type place. Would recommend learning a few words in German to ask for menus, the check, beers, etc. because service was a tad rough since most staff we interacted with didn't speak English!

Very friendly staff, will 'build' something veg*n in the middle of a purely flesh-eating region. As of 2018, even a vegan menu that does not contain salad but actual dinner items (!). Nice German interieur with lotsa old signs, etc. , good for tourist photos. Interieur mostly wood, outside 'beer garden'. 5 mins walk from train station. 'No garlic' food can be prepared, yay! High food quality, it is not posh, though. Lotsa food on the plate. Good coffee. Free peanuts on every table. (Inner city organic supermarket around the corner, too.)

Empfehlenswert auch fuer Veganer. In der Speisenkarte findet sich auf jeden Fall etwas. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen. Neue Bedienung hatte bei der Aufnahme der Bestellung einen Fehler gemacht. Wurde mit einem kostenlosen Getraenk ausgeglichen. Ich wuerde gerne 5 Sterne vergeben, aber das Bewertungssystem laesst das nicht zu.
