Bagels from Kamogawa Bakery - Edit
Super tasty bagels. More vegan options than non vegan. You can have a look in their kitchen while they are preparing these yummy little things. Ideal to go food when you are exploring the beautiful city of Kyoto and you need something in between.

Update Oct. 2024: Still there, still awesome and super yummy. But the opening hours presented in the app do not seem to fit. I was there yesterday at 4 p.m. and it was already closed. Luckely today around 11 a.m. they were open. They also have an english menu book now which informs about ingredients etc..

Over half vegan - Edit
The flavours are varied and numerous but there were not enough savoury flavours for my liking. We wished that the ham and cheese one was vegan. Curry for breakfast just didn’t hit the same way. Curry has a curry centre. The pickle one was nice but I didn’t enjoy the dried fruit in it. Bagels don’t seem baked, more boiled and briefly put into the oven. Request them toasted for better texture.

So many options - Edit
There must have been like 7 vegan options for bagels. They were all really good and also affordable. Our favorites were curry and bean paste soy butter. Some bagels have an unexpected filling, like curry and matcha.

Delicious and variety - Edit
Lots of plant based options to choose from. Options are clearly marked with a green leaf symbol (which says "plant based"). I got the sweet potato and another savoury one that I can't quite remember the name of 😅 Staff were friendly. The bagel isn't quite like a New York or standard Western bagel. It's more like a sticky bread with filling inside the dough. Delicious!

Delicious bagels - Edit
The bagels were tasty. You can even ask the staff to heat your bagel, then it gets hot and crispy! The vegan options are clearly labelled in English.
