Came here after reading the good reviews and seeing the amount of vegan options they have labeled on their menu.
Read moreI saw a recommendation to book but we didn't. We visited around 5pm on a Sunday and so didn't expect it to be too busy.
All food is made fresh and so they advise it can take a while for the food to arrive. This wasn't an issue for us being on holiday plus not many people were in at the same time as we were.
We shared the vegetable spring rolls as a starter. They did cost £9 for 2 large spring rolls but were a lot tastier than some I have had in restaurants before. The plum sauce was very nice.
For the main, I decided to try something different and went for the Korean Bibimbap with Tempeh skewers. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but was still good. The tempeh was lovely and the best I've had.
Overall prices are a little higher but as said above all is made fresh and so it is worth the premium for good food.
The place has a nice vibe too with lots of plants for decoration and is in a handy location near the train station.

Came here with my partner for date night because I saw there were a lot of different vegan options. We had the vegan crackers to start which had two delicious dipping sauces and then the spring rolls and the tempeh skewers which were both excellent. I had the tempeh rendang which was divine and my partner had the chilli tofu noodles, best tofu she's ever had. Only downside is her plate for the appetizers wasn't clean initially but the server sorted it straight away once they realised. Clearly a lot of love and attention goes into this food

A must try in Newquay - Edit
Every time we go to Newquay we visit this restaurant, the vegan options are great, varied and clearly marked on the menu. Good atmosphere too, needs booking in advance usually.

Great range of vegan options including lots of Thai curries and noodle dishes. I had the chilli tofu noodles and dim sum which were delicious. Decent sized portions. Make sure to book online as they get busy.

The Asian food is amazing with lots of vegan options including different types of curries. The green curry and the pad thai with tofu and jackfruit were really well made. They reminded me of my holidays in Thailand.

Incredible fresh food, top 3 best vegan food ive had out. Customer service was brilliant. Only thing that could be at fault is the price, however it was worth £60 for 2 people for the experience of flavours and freshness. (Defo a treat!)

My husband and I went here for a vegan dinner and we weren’t disappointed! We got the edamame beans, Tempeh satay and fried jackfruit for starters and they were all delicious (especially the jackfruit!) Then we had Pad Thai with tofu and Massaman curry with jackfruit and both were very tasty indeed! We were impressed with the whole menu and loved that nearly all the dishes could be made vegan by substituting meat for tofu, tempeh or jackfruit! I only wish more restaurants were like this. If you’re visiting Newquay definitely book a table here.

We struggled to get a reservation here, but was very happy when we did. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We loved the menu and the portions were big. Would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone staying in Newquay.

Food was delicious and we loved every mouthful! Would highly recommend! Loads of vegan choices and alcohol is clearly labeled so you don't have to spend ages checking Barnivore! Staff are very friendly and helpful. You get good sized portions and only regret is that I didn't have room for desert!

Kahuna is not fully veggie/vegan, but offers a good range of vegan options which are clearly indicated on the menu and include some items not often seen in omni restaurants, such as tempeh; several additional dishes can also be adjusted to be vegan as well. Staff are knowledgable about the menu and helpful in providing advice.

Varied range of vegan Thai food - Edit
Vegan starters and mains on the main menu (I believe desserts also, but we had no room for them!). There are curries and noodle meals with a choice of either jackfruit, tofu or tempeh or all three as the protein. My wife and I loved it and would 100% go back if in the area. The chilli tempeh noodles were to die for!
