Friendly vegan spot in the centre - Edit
Good variety of wraps, sandwiches, mixed plates and desserts. We had a „Philly Cheese“ wrap and a quiche w/ broccoli & asparagus, both were tasty. As well as the Midsommar semla.

Good pastries - Edit
I arrived too early at 11 am but lunch served at 12 pm so I only get to try their green and Midsummer Semla (sort like cream puffs but with wheat dough, not “choux”-therefore not texture of a choux would taste like) not too bad but pricey! The Semla tasted more like a doughnut with caramel coated granola. I was expecting a “real” vegan cream puff though.

Hi! Thanks for writing
Read moreSorry that you were expecting a cream puff.
A Semla is a traditional Swedish treat that It is filled with an almond paste blend and whipped cream. Ours even have a roasted/candied almond crunch. And, this time of year, strawberries😄

Update open/closed times - Edit
May want to update closing times as we arrived 30 minutes before advertised close and they said they were ’tyvärr stängt’ (unfortunately closed). We had journeyed all the way here specifically because they were still open so was a bit of a disappointment.

Hi,
Read moreSorry about that and the inconvenience it caused you.
As we are located inside another building, we always have to follow their opening /closing times and sometimes they can change quite quickly.
I've updated our summer hours here and have tried to do the same on Google (but they can be a bit slow.)

Good cafe right next to T Centralen station - Edit
Had a tofu banh mi and espresso. Would recommend this place if you need a quick a relatively healthy snack after arriving in Stockholm. More of a "I'm in the area and need something to eat" rather than a standalone destination spot, though. Good amount of seating that opens up into the main hall of the building.

Very conveniently located right on Sergels torg! Very yummy cake and bahn mi (which is actually not really a bahn mi)!

Super sweet staff, but sandwich was absolutely horrible - Edit
I had a so called “tofu bahn mi” which I can say undoubtedly and most unfortunately was the worst bahn mi I’ve ever had. That’s the unbearable truth, as it tasted like someone who never had bahn mi, whom just turned vegan and love the weird fetishes of tofus with different flavours. They have just discovered pimento/smoked paprika, but never dug into being moderate with this overwhelming spice. Also the bread was not a baguette??
Read morePros: Friendly staff, Great vibe, All vegan
Cons: White washed bahn mi
KafePlattan
It's rather ironic that you use a term like 'white wash', while simulataneously complaining that the flavor of authentic kimchi is too spicy for your Nordic palette, and mistaking gochugaru for smoked paprika. (Probably not even knowing what is is.) It's rather telling.
Read moreOur tofu is produced locallly by the same Chinese family for over 20 years, our French sourdough bread is baked in-house daily, all our flavors are spot on and this sandwich is a customer favorite.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one will take you seriously when you write things like 'fetishes of tofu'.
Luckily, visitors these days are pretty good at weeding out crazy reviews.
However, we sincerely appreciate your kind words about our staff
Tobiaselof
Thanks for replying. Ofc I know Korean kitchen and when I wrote “spice” I didn’t mean “spicy”. But I’ll apologise for mistaking the taste of gochugaru with the taste of pimento. I’ll take that back. But by all means why would you put kimchi in Bánh mì and why not serve it in a baguette…. Like Bánh mì. Sorry about the tofu, It did not taste like anything I’ve had in China and Taiwan. I didn’t like the variety… and why not choose the variety of tofu that this used for Vietnamese style báhn mì. It’s tastes really great. You should try and you’ll see. Why would you even argue with saying that you kimchi is Korean? It would be like selling sushi and someone complained about the taste of gochugaru in the sushi and you said: yeah, but the kimchi is Korean made… like why would you want to put kimchi in sushi or Bánh mì… it makes little sense to me and I wonder again if you sweet people have ever had Bánh mì?

Yummy!! - Edit
We didn‘t find the place at first, but the app said the food would be great. So we tried and searched for a long time, we were both starving until we found it on the lower level in a huge building. We ended up having two huge portions, which tasted both amazing. We ordered an additional burrito, because the salad as well as the sandwich were so good. Not that pricey, Staff was very friendly. Not crowded.

All vegan :)
Read moreWe went here for lunch and had the Meetballs with mashed potatoes and a sandwich (walnut pesto) with soup and a salad.
We also had a very berry smoothie, moccachino (they offer 4 different plant based milk alternatives: soy, oat, almond, (I forgot the last one)), mango cheesecake and a blueberry muffin.
Everthing tastes really good and you can even use the receipt to use the bathroom in the Kulturhuset (just show the receipt to the person attending the toilets and they will let you in).
They also sell some vegan items like chocolate bars, homemade kimchi, steaks to cook at home etc.
Pros: Delicious food, Really fast, Convenient location

Update:
Read moresince my first visit I've been to Café Plattan multiple times and I'm glad that it's now one of my favourite spots. The desserts and sandwiches are great, and the coffee is good too.. :)
Old review:
- Tempeh burger, kimchi potato sallad, regular sallad with dressing: Well balanced burger. The tempeh patty had great texture and flavour! The salads was ok but didn't match 100% with the burger.
- Mini apple pie: Unfortunately this was a disappointment, hard consistency and also a bit dry. Almost no taste of apples.
- Passionfruit cheesecake: Nice! Good texture. Sweet and sour - good combo.
- Cappucino: Drinkable but not great.
I will give this place another try and hopefully I can upgrade my rating. But for now it's a strong 3/5.

Pros: Friendly staff, A lot to choose from

HI! Thanks for writing. Super-surprised to hear that your cappuccino was only "drinkable"?! People LOVE our coffee - we have loads of non-vegan regulars just because our coffees are so good - so something isn't right there.

Good - Edit
I love that this place is sort of sneakily vegan, and such a convenient location!
Read moreI didn’t love the food though. I had the broccoli soup which felt a bit greasy with vegan cheese or butter in it, and my friend had the Philly wrap which tasted good but a bit greasy too.
Most of the desserts were sold out when we arrived and the ones left just looked a bit sad. With the incredible reviews I was waiting for a bakery style Semla, but the semlas looked deflated and the cream yellow-ish.
The location was also a bit cold, not at fault of the restaurant though, and not cosy. I wouldn’t really bring non vegans here to convince them of vegan fika😄
Pros: Lovely staff , Cheap for Stockholm
Cons: Food only okay, but a bit greasy , “Deflated” desserts

Wish I would’ve discovered this place sooner! - Edit
I went on holiday to Stockholm for a week and tried many vegan cafes and pastries here, but this one is my absolute favorite. The best pastries I’ve ever had, no joke. This stuff would make even the most vegan-hating person go, “wow, this shiz so good, you can’t even taste that it’s vegan!”.
Read moreThe cake pop and kanelbulle were AMAZING. The texture was freaking awesome and they tasted like God himself personally made the pastries. This cafe is like the 8th world wonder. If you’re in Stockholm you literally need to put this cafe on your bucket list, doesn’t matter how much time you have. If you can only visit one thing in Stockholm before you have to go, screw Gamla Stan or all the other attractions, go here. After we sat down, ate our food and got our minds blown we even took some pastries with us to eat at the airport. That’s how good they were.
P.S. the staff was awesome too. Really liked the girl behind the counter with pink hair ☻ #Veganuary
