die vegane Variante hat darin bestanden den Kräuterquark wegzulassen. Hat fade und etwas trocken geschmeckt. Schade in den Markthalle gibt es einige Stände mit veganen Optionen.

Hatte direkt beim bestellen vegan dazu gesagt. Das erste Gericht war leider alle (ist ok) weswegen ich mich relativ spontan umentschieden habe und nochmal nach der veganen Variante gefragt habe. Das Dressing das über den Salat gemacht wurde sah auch schon so milchig aus, habe natürlich nicht schnell genug nach gedacht und habe nicht hinterfragt was genau da drin ist. Dann wurde ich gefragt, ob ich Kräuterquark drauf haben will. Also drittes mal den Wunsch geäußert das das Gericht bitte vegan sein soll. Wurde mir also ohne Quark gegeben. Ich bezweifele das es das wirklich war aufgrund des Dressing.

Ich mein es wäre ok, wenn ich was von der Karte bestelle und da von mir aus an Komponenten abbestelle. Es wird auf dem Aushang der Gerichte hier aber direkt mit einem vegan Label geworben. Dann soll man das doch einfach lassen, wenn da nicht so wirklich wert drauf gelegt wird.

Anderst Essen in der City - Edit

Mitte in Freiburg in den tollen Markthallen lecker Essen. Fast alles vegan oder vegetarisch. Sehr gut im Geschmack.

Pros: Viele vegane und vegetarische Optionen, Schnell und gut, Auch zum mitnehmen

Cons: Am WE sehr voll

Afghan home cooking - Edit

Kabul is situated in the Markthalle in Freiburg, which is a food court and bar area with a very informal atmosphere (suitable for all ages). This means that every member of the family can eat pretty much what they want and you can enjoy the veggie or vegan food that you want.
Kabul as the name suggests serves Afghan food, I went for the Veggie Teller (veggie dish) which had a little too much celery in for my liking... but to be honest any celery is too much celery for my liking! The food was nice but not amazing, perhaps I should have tried one of the 6 other veggie and vegan options they had. It felt more like home cooking than restaurant or fast food. Your meal is assembled from the various preheated elements you select for your meal, I imagine that is how they can provide so many vegan and veggie options. Service is quick and friendly. Would I try something else from Kabul on my next visit to Freiburg? Perhaps...
There are two other stalls right next to it which also do a smaller selection of veggie and vegan options Rollo Arabico and Persia plus Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian and Pizza stalls which I did not get the chance to explore... but probably also have some veggie and vegan options.
The Markthalle is certainly worth a visit.
