Lovely place for an evening meal.

Cosy restaurant.
Lady was on her own so had to wait a while to get a menu as she was busy in the kitchen cooking.
Food was great with plenty of options that were vegan or could be made vegan. Large portions.

She does cooking classes as well. Option of a vegetarian class but sure it could be made vegan on request.

Really tasty curry

I ordered the tofu tempeh curry. The curry sauce was really tasty (although a bit too spicy for me). The tofu and tempeh we're good, too. But man, it was a lot. It would be good to have a little less soy and throw some vegetables in there.

Pros: Tasty, Cheap

Cons: Spicy, Needs veggies

Natural and tasty food

This friendly little restaurant is run by son and mother. The terrace offers a great view of Lake Toba.
Contrary to what someone else said, there is only one menu, and all the tofu & tempeh and vegetable dishes (choose from peanut sauce, curry, chilli and tomato, or sweet and sour) are vegan (but it is not a vegetarian restaurant). The food is freshly prepared and only natural ingredients are being used. It was so good that we ate here three times. The owner will happily explain to you about the spices that are typical for the region.
They also sell locally grown and processed cacao, coffee and Batak pepper, which is a sweet tasting pepper variety that only grows on Samosir island. You can spend the waiting time browsing their products. The owner volunteers a lot of his time to support the local community by establishing trade and engaging them in social activities.
We went with him on a hike through the villages and fields, where he explained to us about the local traditions and agriculture. Sadly, we didn't have enough time, otherwise we would have joined one of their cooking classes (with a wide range of vegan meals you can choose to cook).

Pros: Only natural ingredients, Inexpensive, Supports local community

Home made food

Vegetarian options. But any request/requirements, they will try their best to satisfy it. Due to the food that is being prepared on the spot, recommend to come only if you have the time for it as the waiting time can be quite Long. Food was delicious though. 👍🏻

Pros: tasty food, friendly staff, food are made on the spot (even for the sauce)

Cons: waiting time

good option in tuktuk

I was the only person in the whole restaraunt, which was a little weird but it's very quite in tuktuk right now. the back patio is a really beautiful spot. I had the tofu and tempeh with peanut sauce, which was tasty. friendly staff too

Pros: good veggie options, nice patio

Cons: not a lot of actual vegetables

Inexpensive VG friendly restaurant

It's not a Vegetarian restaurant but VG friendly, they got a lot of choice and it's inexpensive. My take away was good.
Ce n'est pas un restaurant végétarien mais VG friendly, ils ont une grande carte et le plat que j'ai pris a emporter était bon. Les plats ne sont pas cher.

Slow food and odd menu

They have a separate and bigger menu for vegetarians. But on the second visit we realized that the same dishes are more expensive on this menu than on the non-veg menu. The food was ok but it took a long time until we got it - even when we where the only customers.

Pros: Nice place to sitt, friendly staff

Cons: Slow food, Teast could be better
