anarchy - Edit
jura is an anarchist bookshop in Sydney. they do workshops, social events, and organise stuff. vegans should explore the concept of anarchy to see how human and animal oppression are connected and to see how we can fight them both. my only issue is that anarchists often don't take up animal liberation so often people sit at meetings eating chicken wings. anarchy is about ending hierarchy and oppression. meat, dairy and eggs have no place in an anarchist bookshop.

I'm not sure Jura Books has any claims to be promoting veganism, if it sells Animal Liberation by Singer WOW, but anarchism-veganism where is the correlation. You are right, many conservationist, environmentalist do suck on KFC chicken bones.

Great books, great events - Edit
Jura has a great selection of vegan cookbooks and animal lib books and pamphlets. They have loads of political talks and film screenings, with subjects ranging from anarchism, feminism and anti-racism to enviro politics and animal liberation. They also have music gigs. They welcome like-minded groups to put on events too. They are a not-for-profit, volunteer-run, anarchist collective, operating on the principles of direct democracy. For a while, there was a food box co-op running out of Jura, but that's not happening anymore. Check their website or call them before you visit, cos they're volunteers and so sometimes not open.
