Small cafe just okay - Edit
There are two cafes - a small one and a big one. We went to the small one by mistake and there was not a huge range of food - one soup option, four pasties and a few cakes available. I was a bit disappointed because I have seen pictures of the bigger cafe and the food looks incredible! I had the Thai green curry soup - bit of an unusual one but it was nice, the bread it came with was delicious. It was also very very hot (too hot). We also tried a cheese and caramelised onion pasty which was okay. I would probably recommend going to the bigger cafe as it seems to have more choice and probably better parking available too.

So much choice! - Edit
I had decided to go to Wray as I had never been before and found out about this plant based cafe when researching. It was well worth the hype, lots of cakes, pastries and hot meals to pick from. Reccomendations include the crumble and caramel slice!

Worth a visit - Edit
The Wray Castle cafe looks more permanent than a pop-up now, and it's clearly getting a lot of custom (so expect to queue at lunch time) - great to see so many people enjoying vegan food. All the dishes are out on display, and on our visit in summer that included sandwiches, wraps, salads and lots of different cakes. The lemon drizzle cake was delicious, and the salad was good too. Dogs are welcome, and there's plenty of outdoor seating, including tables in front of the castle entrance that look out over beautiful views.

Yum! - Edit
It's now a based permanently as a Café rather than a pop up than previously (from what I understand), and now sells a completely plant-based menu. Incredible choice and not just the usual things vegans get lumped with. I had a foccacia with roasted vegetables, rocket and plant-based feta and my boyfriend had a saag aloo pasty, both were really lovely. Lots of different cakes/desserts including peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies, nutty millionaire slice and chocolate muffins to name just a few. Staff were rushed off their feet but were incredibly helpful and explained the choices when asked.
Read morePros: Is now all plant-based, Sells vegan confectionery bits, Amazing food! Lunch, cake and drink options
Cons: Can be quite expensive, Very busy, although I think this is a good thing!

Delicious vegan food in Wray Castle - Edit
5 of us all vegan staying in the lakes on hols and the food was that good we drove back the next day for seconds . Had the smoothies, jackfruit pasty , cheese and onion pasty, lentil tabbouleh, sun dried pesto pasta, roasted cauliflower bagel, focaccia and an assortment of cakes . The food was outstanding, queue was out the door but moved quickly . Absolutely worth a visit if you are in Windermere, it’s also dog friendly. The Wray estate also has a shingle beach and you can have a swim in Windermere whilst there . Randomly there were 4 friendly cows on the beach which also made our day

Worth a drive just for the cafe - Edit
Clean and fresh. Theres no menu as everything is out on display. A range of sandwiches, pasties, cakes and soups. A variety of milks for drinks. Do know that they also serve cow milk but it's not the default.
Read moreDogs allowed inside. Lots of seating outside and it's so pretty with views overlooking the water. Parking was £5 for 2 hours. Bring change. This cafe is here permanently and they have another at the beatrix potter place and another somewhere else. Quickly becoming a franchise. They even have merch and some shop items. See pictures.
Pros: Everything on display , Lots of choice , Taste

Really delicious vegan food at this small cafe - Edit
Stopped off at Joeys for a quick bite to eat. It’s in the grounds of a National Trust property and the car park is £5 - ok if you want to visit the property itself as well.
Read moreWe had a pastie, a soup and a curry which were all really tasty and would definitely go back again. They also had a selection of cakes which looked good.
The downside to this otherwise all vegan cafe is that the stock dairy milk and our coffees would have been made using it if we hadn’t of realised
Pros: Delicious coffee, Nice selection of pasties, a soup and a curry
Cons: Have dairy milk there (non-dairy is available
