Lively atmosphere, good food, great view - Edit
The vegetarian antipasto is vegan and was tasty and satisfying. I also had a seaweed salad with sesame oil on the side, which was good. There's a small selection of vegan and veg makizushi rolls and a huge selection for pescatarians. The restaurant is on the second floor and the street side of its outdoor dining room has a view of the lively Commercial Street scene. We were lucky and got a seat right next to the railing, and doubly lucky that nature put on a quadruple rainbow during our meal! (See photo, taken from our table.)

Better then nothing, but limited - Edit
The menu was difficult to decipher if one was looking for the vegan options. Luckily I had read other’s reviews of JD’s on Happy Cow so I knew what to look for. The atmosphere was open and airy but crowded and very loud, so conversations with the Waitstaff was limited. There really wasn’t opportunity to discuss what they could create for a vegan that was not on the menu already. I regretted not trying the primavera pizza, but the Beyond burger was cooked well. I asked for a lettuce wrap, instead of the bun and was given 2 thin lettuce slices. I added onion and avocado but the Bermuda onion was cut thick and a bit bitter and the avocado was not sliced but mashed and seemed watery. Burger $17, avocado $3, lettuce $2, onion $2. Bit expensive for a burger. I didn’t realize it came with French fries, or I would have substituted if possible, but they were thin fries, cooked well. Not finding Provincetown particularly friendly to vegans so far.

Best vegan pizza I’ve had in 2 years of being vegan. - Edit
The primavera with onions, peppers, and mushrooms was simple and flavorful. The vegan cheese melted and had a nice subtle flavor.

A Great Little Big Restaurant - Edit
JD's is a study in contrasts. While it appears to be a simple pizza place, it is so much more, serving fish and more complex entrees for our non-vegan friends and family. From the street the upstairs restaurant appears much smaller than it really is. And lastly, the staff is purely professional, polite and competent, not what you expect from the pizza joints around town.

Pros: Large diverse breadth of offerings , Good value , Great staff
Cons: Could use even more vegan options

Few but strong vegan option - Edit
For a tourist town, during peek tourist/August weekend season - this place holds there own. Simple foods - pizza (vegan and non), raw bar, sushi, lobster, etc. Staff was very friendly - Canadian level apologetic for things that were no big deal - like the beer will be 3 minutes delayed because they had to change the keg. BTW - 1 liter beers and 32 oz frozen drinks.

My omnivore boyfriend and I both loved this place. No bookings. Great impromptu dinner. The Vegan pizza is lovely. Put some pepper flakes and salt on it.

Great vegan pizza! - Edit
This was pretty much the only place open on the last weekend night of October, and it was their last open night of the year, but they still had daiya and made us delicious pizza.

Great Lunch - Edit
Ate here with my large Omni-eating family and was very satisfied. Vegan pizza with vegan GF crust, yummy vegan veggie burger, and a great antipasto platter with hummus, baba ganoush, quinoa, and veggies. Also plenty of salad choices. My sea food eating family appreciated it also.
