Serves meat, vegan options available. Asian fusion restaurant located within the Hyatt Regency Resort, open to the public. Offers a vegetable and tofu dish which is vegan. Also has sides such as edamame (plain or spicy), asparagus and a broccoli and tofu curry. Request yellow curry as the red has fish sauce in the paste. A few salads can be made vegan and there is a vegetable sushi. Staff are accommodating. Due to the fire in Aug 2023 many Lahaina businesses are closed or have moved. Pleasantly surprised - Edit
We've stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Maui a few times now and in the past Japengo didn't have a whole lot of vegan options. But now! There are vegan friendly options on the menu and there are a few items listed as can be vegan. The Tofu stir fry and sides were delicious! And it was great to be able to eat with our non vegan family at this beautiful location.

Accommodating and pretty - Edit
Japengo is at the Hyatt and convenient, they have a well labeled menu with vegan items, and they also have gluten free and vegetarian items. The tofu was good, and the rice was good. The cocktail was not amazing. The food was a bit salty but we liked it. The portions were very large. It was a pretty restaurant and the chefs are kind as well as the staff. I think it’s a decent place to go.

Over priced - Edit
I got the veggies and tofu. It was the most disappointing meal I’ve had on the island. The first time they forgot the tofu! When it came out fixed it was just cubed, basically raw tofu. I would not go here and I would not recommend this. I can make better with grocery store marinade. The veggie sushi rolls was also extremely basic and not worth $16.
