Uncommon jamaican dishes with reasonable prices - Edit
We ate a seeweadburger and a breadfruit "fish" . The burger tasted really good and savory. My omni-boyfriend said that it just tasted like real meat. The breadfruit fish was fulling and had its very own, nice taste I can't compare to anything else. You can choose your own sides. We chose steamed vegetables and salat. The vegetables were a little bit overcooked for me, but it's just personal since I really them crunchy.
Read moreWe also ordered fried dumplings. They were quit good, although we expected them to be Asian style (filled with vegetables). Obviously they serve them in the Jamaican way, which is without filling very bread like ish.
I am not sure if this happened to other people as well but the location in happy cow is not correct. We had to use the Google location to find it.

Read moreEverything we’ve tried here has been amazing - seaweed burger, jerk jack fruit, breadfruit fish, jackfruit burger, pasta, curry etc. We have been going here three days in a row, having two meals a day just to try everything.😄High quality ingredients, fresh flavours, amazing combinations prepared in a concious way with a lot of respect for the food. The best vegan burger I've ever had. For their prices it’s 100% worth it. Desserts (chocolate cheesecake, peanut snickers, brownie) and drinks (different kombucha flavours, irish moss, sorrel) are also outstanding.
Also, we just loved the community feeling at Jammin, spent hours just hanging out here - talking with Temps, lovely staff and other foodies. Great vibes...😄
It was a gem we found and can’t wait to return.

Temps - the owner - is a great guy, provides great company, and makes healthy excellent vegan food for all the right reasons.
If you’re in Puerto Viejo absolutely do not skip this restaurant.
The best thing I had there was the seaweed burger. I’d definitely recommend getting one of his burgers

this has to be one of my favourite food experiences in puerto viejo so far. You can watch the owners prepare the food from scratch and enjoy the delicious meals on a little terras. Everything is sustainably and locally sourced and the owners are super passionate about their restaurant. 100% would recommend paying a visit!

I have to be honest: the restaurant looks a bit scruffy on the outside. But oh boy the food is the best we had so far in Costa Rica. It was not easy to read the menu, so many exotic flavors and ingredients we don’t know. Luckily the staff was very helpful and patient. We are a bit sad that we discovered this restaurant at the end of our stay in Puerto Viejo. We went two days in a row just to squeeze in another visit before we went on the road again. Yes, it was that good!

I tried to visit 3 times and only had luck once, as the opening times are a bit tricky (Monday to Friday, 1 to😄but I was really glad that I did, as the food was delicious and so fresh! Both bread fruit and jerk fruit are a must and the people there are absolutely lovely - 5 stars from me!

If I said I didn't go back several times during my stay in Costa Rica, I would be lying. I had to try everything on the menu! Excellent options, highly recommended! Beautiful plant-based dishes, full of flavour and reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. It's located right by the beach if you want to dip your toes in the sea. This is the perfect place for anyone seeking to expand their vegan palate.

Surprised by unfriendly staff. - Edit
We came here to support all vegan spots in town and were really excited about good vibes as one might expect from a rastafari-run business. In the contrary and being the only customers atm we were received by a young man pretty serious that was very short with us. The food was scarce and the prices high. Not coming back even though it’s one of the only few vegans in town.

I've had two meals here and plan to return again before I leave puerto viejo. Come here with the intention to linger. You won't regret it.

Best vegan food we tried in costa rica - Edit
We were here twice and it was absouluutley delicious. They have food, we never tried before. We ordered extra more to take away cause we couldnt get enough of this stunning food. Its not so expensive compared to other restaurants here. The owner and waitress are soo friendly and the vibe there is very chill. Our favourite meal were the seeweed fritters and ackee and seaweed.

Jammin is nicely tucked away from the main street noise and warmly welcoming. The menu is fully vegan and food absolutely divine!
