Tasty Carribbean food

I have not had a lot of vegan Carribbean food, so this was a real treat. The menu was exciting and we were all happy with what we ordered. We were especially happy with the dishes that contained mock fish - the taste and texture were fantastic. The ginger cake was another winner. Service was great. It's quite expensive, but felt like good value.

Nice food and staff

Really enjoyed the curry "goat". Plantain was perfect. Was not a fan of my cocktail or mac & cheese but that's just my tastes. Staff were friendly. I liked sitting in the bit that felt outside but was inside.

Great plant-based Caribbean food

Great fully vegan Caribbean place with a great selection of dishes - the Mac and cheese and “prawns” are sooo good!

Incredible

I never had vegan “goat” before! This was amazing! The festivals to start were a strong favourite too. And those cocktails! Great service also.

Pros: Innovative options, Lovely service , Great flavours

Cons: The velvet bench we sat on needs dusting

Worth a try

I had high hopes for this place, and it was great but I was a little let down. The mac and cheese wasn't very nice, but the curry "goat" was banging. I wasn't a huge fan of the texture of the jerk chick'n wings, but my mate liked them. It was on the expensive side, but at least the portions are big. Definitely thought it was funny that they charge an extra £1 for ketchup and mayo. I understand it for the more specialist sauces, but ketchup!?

The vibes were good, but it took around 30 mins for a starter to arrive, and the place wasn't busy.

These flavours 🙏🏼

Service from start to finish was brilliant, staff are very attentive and helpful with menu if you have any questions or want any recommendations.

We ordered tostones and oyster mushrooms to start, then goat curry, chicken skewers and a roti, this was plenty of food between two. We 100% would’ve got a pudding if we didn’t have a train to catch. The flavours on these were amazing and not too spicy if you’re worried about that. So glad to have finally visited! The only minor minor issue I would say is that the food wasn’t piping hot for our visit but I wouldn’t let that put me off.

Definitely a strong recommendation for those looking for authentic Caribbean vegan food.

Pros: Flavours, Menu choice, Interior / opening windows

Absolutely Delish from start to finish

Really really delicious, we starters, mains and dessert and weren’t disappointed by anything. I would recommend ordering three courses or starters and mains and sides as the portions aren’t large. Ambiance and decor was lovely, staff were super friendly and personable, will definitely be back.

Pros: Great flavours, Lovely staff, Beautiful decor

Cons: Portions on the small side

Important crossover vegan bar/club/restaurant concept capturing the imagination.

First things first, the name of the brand is bloody awesome. I’ve known the site for years as I used to live around the corner in Cloudsley square in 1985.

Arrived at 1pm sharp, as per the booking and they were not quite ready yet and the music was up at war zone (staff setting up the venue) levels. I asked them to turn it down and they did and were friendly.

I designed a lot of venues in the 90s/2000’s and this looks just like some of those clubs with a retro club feel. Is it a bar, is it a club, is it a restaurant? The design does not appear to know what its identity is but hopefully the food does.

Personally I think it’s more of an evening venue as the interior feels more clubby than gastro but again that’s helping push the cruelty free plant-based food envelope into the nightlife world as well. It looks like they had a small budget for the fit-out.

I had the curry goat and my buddy had the fried chicken with Jamaican gravy, both dishes were jam Delish and worth the wait although the portions were small for the money.

For dessert I had the chocolate ice cream sandwich and my buddy had the apple crumble and custard. Both were Jam Delish (see pics because seeing is believing)

The future is vegan 🌱

Make a reservation

I ordered take-out. It was done pretty quickly. The rice & peas were made with Scotch Bonnet pepper so the heat doesn’t hit you right away, but it’s hot. I liked the chicken pieces a lot.

Own place now: SO much better

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, great the wine is now vegan (as own place now, not in pub) - just please include a couple of mains without "meat" in the title (which we don't prefer, plus there's no indication what those are actually made of)

Pros: All wine etc now vegan (as not based in pub), Totally vegan., Great food, great variety of 'small plates'

Cons: All mains include "meat" in the title, Some dishes a bit salty.

Delicious

Delicious and flavorful food. We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here. The staff are also friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. They allowed me to bring my own birthday cake and even lit the candles for me.

Pros: Good food, Good vibes, Friendly staff

Super Flavorful Caribbean Food!

Finally got to try Jam Delish and I can see what the hype is about. We had high expectations before arriving and they were certainly met, if not exceeded! Between two (quite hungry) people, we share 4 small plates, one large plate, and one dessert. We were stuffed but loved getting to try a bit of everything. For the small plates we had the salt “fish” (our favorite!), jerk plantains, fried oyster mushrooms, and jerk “chicken” wings, and the oxtail stew for the large plate. Everything was bursting with flavor. The chocolate cake dessert was also fantastic.

Waiters were friendly, but the hostess was not as warm or friendly as you would expect upon entering the restaurant (a minor thing though). It is a pricey outing, but so worth the try!!

Pros: Creative and flavorful vegan food, Extensive food & drinks menu

Cons: Expensive

Excellent vegan Caribbean food in London

Following excellent reviews in the media this restaurant is very popular, so I would suggest you make a reservation.
The restaurant is just a short walk from Angel tube station. Inside the restaurant there is a reception/cocktail bar area and off to the left and to the right there are the restaurant tables and chairs, with a choice of really comfortable tub chairs and bench seating.
There's a fairly extensive drinks menu with cocktails, and various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
For the food, I chose the fried 'chicken' and Jamaican gravy, which comes with ackee, lentils, and Caribbean squash. It was delicious. A nice combination or textures and flavours.
I still had a little room for a dessert so ordered the Biscoff Cheesecake (apparently the cheesecake varies week to week). It was very nice (although very similar to other Biscoff cheesecakes I've had). I don't eat chocolate, otherwise I'd have chosen the Chocolate Ice Cream sandwich with rum cake and chocolate/banana ice-cream.
The service was prompt and very friendly.
I look forward to going again

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Nice ambience , Prompt service

Cons: At times it got a bit noisy 'cos it was busy!😀

Great food, bad service

The food was great, and really tasty, but the service was a mess. The waiters didn't seem like they were communicating with each other, and they made a lot of mistakes with our orders. We also had to wait around ten minutes to be seated even with a booking. The food took ridiculously long to get there, but once it did (even though it was the wrong order) it tasted good. Won't be coming back though :(

Pros: Vegan only restaurant, Great drinks, Good food

Cons: Long waiting time for food and drinks , Bad communication between waiters, Got a lot of wrong orders

Great Caribbean cuisine

We went to Jam delish for dinner. The Oyster Mushroom and the plantain were delicious. You can skip the wings, too much seitan for my taste.
Make sure you have a reservation as it gets busy.

Pros: Fully vegan, Nice cocktails

Cons: Expensive

Delicious food

I’ve been wanting to come here for months. I finally got the chance to visit recently. I ordered wings, some jerk and some southern fried, and curry goat with rice and peas. I enjoyed the southern fried wings, they were delicious. My curry goat was good as well. Knocking off one star because my curry goat was cold. The place is only 5 weeks old so of course they have their challenges. I would not hesitate to return. #Veganuary

Good food but a few teething issues

We went here for a birthday lunch, the food was really delicious although if I go again I would opt for a salad side as it’s all quite rich. Aside from the food it generally felt like they were still trying to get their act together a bit, everything took a really long time to arrive and came out of order. My friend found paper scraps in her glass, and my (paper) napkin had definitely been used before. Music was loud and unbalanced between tracks so sometimes we couldn’t hear each other at all, then the track would change & it would seem like we were shouting.

I do have to hand it to the staff, despite being short staffed they were friendly and helpful with the menu etc. I’m hoping these issues are just because it’s a relatively new place, and will get ironed out — they should because given the prices they are charging the general ambience needs a bit of work! #Veganuary

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Lots of choice

Cons: Expensive , Lots of small things went wrong!

Top notch Jamaican food

Absolutely delicious - the Jerk Chick'n wings are moist and tender and flavoured perfectly, and the curry "goat" is gorgeous, with a great serving of rice and pea, plantain and sweet potato. #Veganuary

Pros: Delicious 100% vegan Jamaican food

Cons: A bit pricey, but really worth it

Amazing Vegan Food

This was the best vegan Caribbean food I’ve had and possibly the best vegan fish I’ve had. The only reason I wouldn’t give it five stars is that the service was a little slow but they were so busy and it’s a new place so overtime this will improve!

Pros: All vegan

Great Spot

Really nicely decorated restaurant with friendly staff and good food (the chickn 'wings' especially)! Only area for improvement would be that the food is slightly more expensive than other comparable places, especially the desserts - where it should really be called a chocolate and *banana* not chocolate and guinness cake! Had a grand time overall though :)

Amazing

Delicious food, good service, nicely decorated restaurant. It was a pleasure to dine there, I really enjoyed the experience.
I had the stew with jackfruit and wild mushrooms. The texture and taste were just perfect.
Book in advance as the restaurant is busy. We were there on Wednesday night and it was fully booked.

Caribbean class

This new permanent home for Jam Delish offers an ambitious menu in a swanky teal and floral dining room with a seatdance-inducing 80s soul and RnB playlist.

"Goat" curry was the winning main dish at our table of three. The "fish" was so convincing it divided opinion! From the nibbles menu the mouthfuls of joy that are the mini festivals in fruity sauce would work just as well as dessert.

The high-end vibe (and pricing) provoked pickier assessment - waxy aubergine let down an otherwise dream skewer and I wish I'd been encouraged to order a sauce with it (loving that there's an extensive sauce menu!). Somewhere to hang wet winter coats would be nice.

But all this is nitpicking. Fancy vegan restaurants are a cause for celebration and this is a slick experience, especially for a brand new opening. I invite you to share my arduous 2023 goal to work through the menu.
