Mayan appreciation here! - Edit
If you care about the indigenous traditions of the Yucatan, a great place (although not necessarily for vegans). If you are vegan it might be disturbing as they educate you about Mayan food culture on two gigantic TV screens. Super informative but as they are not a vegan establishment, they do show meat preparation in some of the scenes and dairy. So it’s perhaps more of a veg-friendly place than vegan.
Read moreI had a delicious, traditional Mayan drink and a dish that was called a Mayan name but was like mushroom tacos. I am not vegan but I would like to warn vegans that they do cook some items in lard so, if you come, ask them.
I do have the sense that they would be super accommodating. Very professional vibe here. The manager and all staff were lovely.
Last note is this is in an area where they cater to cruise ships. I say that because when we got there they were giving a cooking class (very cool) to a group of at least 20. If you are looking for a romantic place, I would not choose here although it’s very nice. Immaculately clean 🧼
Pros: Great info on Mayan food cuisine and culture. , Delicious food. , Professional feel - clean establishment
Cons: Caters to cruise ships 🛳️ large parties , Big TV screens show food prep (some meat scenes)

Best place to eat in Cozumel.
Read moreWent there with my family in 2022; we were looking for authentic food and we definitely got it.
Staff was very friendly and willing to answer all questions despite language barrier.
Sikil P'aak was a really nice surprise, make sure to order at least one dish that is prepared at your table (they are sinalized on the menu).
The location is not the best, but the experience is amazing!
Pros: Delicious vegan options, Friendly staff
Cons: Location

My friends were skeptical when I suggested this place for dinner, the lone business open in an empty strip mall, but it did not disappoint. The menu included a bunch of unique dishes that I'd never heard of or tried before, which is 100% what I seek out when I'm traveling somewhere new. One of my friends said it was her favorite place we'd eaten during our entire week long stay in Cozumel, and my friend with a wheat allergy was delighted to learn the entire restaurant is gluten free.
Read moreSikil P'aak: Amazing. Incredible. Star of the show. I was blown away by how a dish with so few ingredients (it was prepared right in front of us by Tiffany) could have such depth of flavor. Even the picky eaters at the table enjoyed it.
Pibil mushrooms: Delicious, my second favorite thing at the table. Savory, well balanced, interestingly spiced and well textured.
Aguas frescas: I sampled all four of the traditional Mayan beverages offered. The chaya one was the most unique and definitely my favorite, and the saacab was a close second, but the rest were good too.
Chaya soup: This was not my favorite thing on the menu, but definitely unique, and I am glad that I tried it. It's good to whet the appetite.
Polcan of Ibes: I appreciate the vegan protein option, but I thought these could have used more salt and flavor. I am glad I tried them, but don't think I'd order again.
There is something for everyone at this restaurant. The food and the service are excellent, and it is worth visiting for the sikil p'aak alone.

Excellent experience with amazing food. - Edit
Serves traditional Mayan food in an upscale dining atmosphere. Sikil P’aak and guacamole prepared at the table with lessons on Mayan language and cooking. This was the BEST Sikil P’aak we had on our trip. My favorite thing was that they make a vegan version on the classic cochinita pibil with mushrooms instead of pork so I could finally taste the traditional flavors. And it’s SO good. The servers were awesome. This is an out of the way spot in a location where a lot of businesses are closed due to COVID. Take the trip out here. Totally worth it!!
