Perfect Getaway!

My first visit to Ivy Cottage Guest House (and the Isle of Rum in general) was in the spring of 2019 with my mother. Fliss was more than happy to accommodate our dietary requirements and made us delicious vegan meals. I have since come back with my husband in late 2021 and was so pleased to hear Fliss’ shift to a fully vegetarian and plant based menu! It’s a wonderful, family run business and Fliss has been incredibly kind and even given us transportation to the other side of the island to eat our packed lunches in the most beautiful spots. I look forward to coming back again and experiencing the new additions to the menu and the wonderful hospitality!

Pros: Home grown vegetables , Hearty packed lunches , Friendly atmosphere

Absolutely 100/10

Ivy cottage is the place to be. From the views to the food- unreal.
Not only was I offered many options for my breakfast (I’m fussy) we were also made a gorgeous freshly made dinner.
Brownie points for the chonky Labrador Orla who came to say hello!

Exploring the island was so fun and interesting, recommended checking out Harris it’s a bit of a walk but if you rent bikes it helps! We saw the ponies and goats along with the house and beautiful beach.
If you’re looking for that sandy beach bliss, definitely visit Kilmory beach - we were made packed lunches by Fliss which kept our tummies from rumbling!

Rum ticks all the boxes if you’re an outside guy/gal, with options of beaches, hiking, camping, biking even swimming (when it’s not too chilly!) and so much more.

Thank you Fliss for a wonderful stay- we’ll be back!

Pros: The food, Views , Chonky Orla!

Cons: Midges!
